Lunchroom Engelhard — Restaurant in The Hague

We were sitting inside having a drink in the morning. The door was open, so the cigarette smoke from the customers outside was blowing in with the wind. The lunchroom is non smoking inside, and since the cigarette smoke was blowing right in I asked the waitress if she could please close the door, to which she answered:’No, especially not with this weather.’ So I told her that the smoke was coming in to which she replied that with an open kitchen like theirs there was no chance of not having smoke around and that the customers were allowed to smoke outside. Hmmmm.... as far as I know kitchen cooking smoke and cigarette smoke differ. This waitress should not start an argument with a customer.... do they get taught any client/customer service at all? Unfortunately not the first time they have been rude to us there... but definetly...

We reserved for high tea. It started out really well, friendly staff and the savory was tasty. Unfortunately, they must have been understaffed or overbooked because we went long periods of time with zero service. Three times we had to go seek someone to get more hot water, find out about the 3rd course which took dreadfully long, or ask for milk for the tea. That's another thing, they do not offer milk with the tea and if you ask for it they bring you an incredibly small amount or charge you for a whole glass of milk. I don't particularly mind paying extra for the milk, but many people drink their tea with milk, why is it not an option to ask for? The middle course was just sorbet. The sweet course was fine. I was very much ready to leave, though because it's difficult to enjoy things when you must constantly go inside to...

Unprofessional staff, I was there with 4 people and everything was horrible,

I had the chicken salad and it was very soggy , one of my friends had salmon which taste spoiled we had to send it back , my other friend had the Sate sauce which taste burnt , my other friend had soup which she literally vomited because it taste as if they made it from a few days before ,

This was the worst experience of all time and I’ve been to many restaurants, I would advise against anyone who wants to eat here...
