Restaurant Hagedis — Restaurant in The Hague

Excellent, delicious, a dream. I think anyone with celiac who is also vegan would feel in heaven at this place. Finally, someone takes care to give variety and foodie levels of innovation to vegan food that is at once gluten-free. I had the vegan nachos and my husband (a non-vegan who went just to support me) had the three-course menu. All of the food was exceptional and nourishing.

The thing that impressed me the most, food-wise, though was the desser. A vegan pumpkin ice cream with pecans and grapes. At first I chuckled „why grapes?!“ Then I realized that the grapes were warm! And somehow this amazing combo was so so good together with warm grapes 😋.

Thank you for this restaurant, and I can only hope more and more like it emerge on this planet. Only in Netherlands will it be this lovely though ❤️. (I say that as a Swiss resident who has been to vegan luxury Hiltl a lot but this here at Hagedis is something...

What a rip off! We spent 61€ for very poor quality and tasteless food. The only things that were decent were the drinks but 12.5€ for a jug of sparkling water with cranberry sirop is too overpriced. We were very happy when we entered the restaurant because the atmosphere was so nice and the menu looked appealing but were very disappointed when we tasted the food. The aubergine dish: while the portion was generous, the aubergine tasted weird (and I love aubergine) and the other veggies needed more seasoning. The dish of the day was terrible (curry too salty, salad tasteless, no sauce). The forest fruit pie was not a pie and it was very poor in terms of flavor. Sadly, would not...

This is a fantastic vegetarian option in Den Haag. If you are having a birthday, book the round table and bring up to 8 friends along. It is also good for functions, which need to be booked on days when the restaurant is not open. The days are usually Weds Thurs Fri and Sat. We love this place; its authenticity, its location, the 1920s Haag Style architecture and fig tiles, the artwork that is anything but kitsch. Childrens' play room for the restless! Enjoy everything on the menu...
