'T Oude Wandelpark — Restaurant in Valkenswaard

It's not a bad place at all, but we lacked the "nice touch". To start with, when we came, we were allowed to stay waiting at the entrance for about 5 minutes, while there place was almost empty. Sure, the staff may be few and busy, but it would be nice if they at least noticed us and kindly asked to wait. When the waitress eventually came, she wasn't smiling. She wasn't rude at all, but we didn't really feel welcome. She started with "How can I help you", as if she was a little surprised that we popped up in the middle of the day for a lunch. Mind it, we had made an online reservation, so she could have known we were coming. The food was good, but nothing special....

This review is only based on my last visit. I have been here many times before and always been pleased, but somethings have changed the last year and the place have gone from high standard to low. We waited a very long time on our drinks and food. My son had to wait over 1 hour on a pizza, and when it came it was not the one we ordered. The chicken I had was dry, nobody came to ask if everything was ok, the staff acted like they didn't like to be there and where almost impossible to get a hold of. All in all the service was lousy, would not recommend it to anyone. If this is the future standard I'm not...

Very nice food and amazingly friendly staff. The prices are very reasonable even on the low side considering the high quality of the meals. The seating inside and outside are homeley. The menu is diverse and tasty it also offers a wide variety of beers. The restaurant is situated near a beautiful park bearing the same name and it has plenty space for parking.
