Brasserie Meat the Butcher & IJsbar98 — Restaurant in West Betuwe

What an amazing find this was, tucked away in a beautiful and peaceful place, we didn’t have a reservation but luckily they had one table left. They looked after us English tourists like we were there own. We tried to book a table a couple of days later but it was full the whole family gutted.

We have eaten in some very high end places in our time and this place is easily in those realms but without the extortionate prices.

The atmosphere was friendly, comfortable and relaxed. The food was just outstanding. Our little 8 year old fussy eater suddenly become a delight and gave us the most energetic thumbs up we have ever seen, our 16 year old fully satisfied his gastronomical wants, Steak Tartare and a succulent and moist piece of Salmon.

We left very full and very satisfied.

Stopped here for dinner while I was travelling in the area for business. The restaurant is very nice and positioned in a picturesque location near a church. Service is very attentive and friendly. The food was good but was expecting something more. I ordered a tartare which tasted ok but the pieces of meat where quite big and could tell they had been prepared quite in advance. The truffle burger was ok but could not taste any truffle oil. The meat was tasty but quite small. The black bread was very nice. I would definitely stop again to try...

Relaxing place next to a little church. Nice outside terrace. Staff is friendly. Portions are really small and prices steep. You even have to pay extra to get fries with your main course (3,95 euro). Have a look at the pictures and judge for yourself. Did quality was just okay, nothing extraordinary. We had the ribs, prawns and a hamburger. Waiting times for the food are long. We ordered extra fries but they never came. We left with hunger and went for a snackbar afterwards. Free parking around the church and...
