La Storia — Restaurant in Wormerland

One of the best experiences at a restaurant! I've never felt so taken care of & welcome & not inconveniencing the venue. I have few allergies of which I've informed prior to booking. Upon arrival, they double checked all allergies for me, also asked my companion if there's anything to take into account. Then they treated us to a 4 course menu where every dish for me was either custom made or adapted so that it didn't have allergens while that of my companion might. They were clear about explaining what was where and it never felt like I was inconveniencing them. It was very polite and accommodating, welcoming. Other places just say this and this dish has so and so allergen and I was just left with making choices to eat less or risk my health. This restaurant went above and beyond on my expectations and while being so nice and smooth about it. I'm absolutely in love. Aside from that, the adapted dishes were really delicious, it wasn't like in other places they would remove the dressing or a sauce & I would be left with incomplete & not so delicious dish. No, here it was just fantastic - from starters to dessert. I haven't had such experience in years. Thank you and my biggest compliments to the chef! The wait staff was amazing too: very helpful, patient, polite, nice, welcoming, letting me practice my Dutch. It wasn't a typical Dutch service, it was a service you'd expect in Ukraine or other countries where restaurant culture is high. After visiting Mario restaurant several times we probably are spoiled and expected to much. We reserved a table outside because inside everything inside was full. The place is very nice with a wonderful terrace, but the staf was not focused on servicing the guests sitting outside. I enjoyed the Pizza but did not find it special. Just good. My wife did not like her Pizza.... to much tomato sauce and less cheese. We believe we were here just on a wrong moment as most people are very enthusiastic. So we will try it soon again and then I will update this review...

Er is niets wat ik niet lekker vind bij La Storia. Een aanrader is het gemengde voorgerecht, waar allerlei typische Italiaanse lekkernijen op liggen, zoals bruschetta, aubergine en courgette op Italiaanse verse toast, iets met een soort paté, waarvan ik nog steeds niet weet wat het is, maar wel dat het bijna het lekkerste is wat erbij ligt!!

Daarna nam mijn man een pizza napolitana, mams Casoncelli ravioli (gevuld met kalfsvlees), was heerlijk, ze kreeg het niet op!! Ik ben voor de spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncini gegaan. Als altijd erg lekker, had voor mij wel pittiger gemogen, ik houd van pittig eten. Ik heb als enige een nagerecht genomen, de panna cottamet fruit, en ik at bijna mijn vingers erbij op!!

Het personeel is altijd vriendelijk, de koks weten wat ze doen, de atmosfeer is gezellig.
