Port Ohope General Store & Cafe — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

Ordered a Frappé, americano and nachos under the name Jen... simple enough. Got given a iced coffee instead, no problem, they got it wrong, happens. But the girl who served us proceeded too argue that because the wrong order was put into the system it is now what I ordered... very bizarre, I politely correct her, again, until they realized I was right. In a loafing manner they said that make another, which they did not, they simply put my iced coffee in a blender, returning a watery milky thing with barley any ice. At this point we were more than ready to leave, but once our Nachos were ready, instead of calling out the name we had ordered under they were yelling out "Jeff" geez. To get so many things wrong withing the space of 5mins is baffling, I guess that's what you get when your Cafe is run by 12 year olds, literally.

Oh and that reply! Dam, no wonder your staff can't accept the truth and carry on as normal. Mistakes happen, maybe if you learnt to take ownership for your own then maybe your staff can too. Trust me, the atmosphere there is abysmal, who would want to eat in anyway? It's no skin off my nose, it's your business that hangs in the balance, not where I buy my coffee. Later 😊

I ordered a toasted cheese and pineapple I returned it for a refund Highly disappointed the cheese was cheap processed the pineapple was in big chunks the cook didn't even cut it either I opened it up it looked sickly. I asked the cook when she came out about the cheese her reply was they use it because its cheap.I even ordered fish and chips the batter was over cooked and fish was a very small piece over cooked and not fresh and a hand full of chips for $20. won't be going back their ever again. So we called down next to Iceman where we got a Big piece of fresh snapper and chips way better and price wise to I have cooked in pubs,cafes takeaways etc over the years and never seen a toasted Sammy like that ever before not to mention it was just slapped together the cheese also had a not good color to it either You don't serve something you're prepared to eat yourself .The cooks hair wasn't even tied up either my husband said their was a piece of black hair with his chips unfortunately we were traveling out of town I wasn't going to waste our gas to go all the way back for what So we won't be going their ever...

Firstly the fish was beautiful and fresh. But we were totally confused and disappointed as we asked for individual fish and chips and were told sorry we don't do that so we ordered altogether, we get to seats notice a table had exactly what we were told we couldn't have. Then expecting our order to come in paper, instead it came out with all the fish on one big plate and the chips in 2 separate bowls. And then plates to put it all on individual plates just crazy. As we are eating another group comes in they get it on one plate each like it should have been for us. Like we asked for initially.Not to mention we have eaten there before and got individual meals. I think the staff need training. Just to add to your response, we made our order quite clear, and it was the staff that got things wrong. As we questioned it then and there....
