Heard about how good the breakfasts are so thought I'd try it out. Value for money. 2 eggs, really good bacon, mushrooms, tomato, hash brown and sausage for $15.... bargain. Other than the sausage which was pretty poor, everything else was great on the plate. Really did not like the chocolate thickshake I ordered though so didn't drink it. Was extremely sweet and not chocolatey at all.

At best during the warmer months to provide for the advantages of outdoor garden-courtyard seating, this cafe nevertheless continues to offer exceptional value, cuisine, and service to indoor Winter diners. If there is a more delicious and better value 'All-day Breakfast' to be had in Canterbury, I am yet to discover it!

Always great coffee, cheap menu, perfect place to take the kids. Bottles of sauce, plenty of napkins and lovely seating options outside. One of my fave locals

I was treated in a very rude manner as they did not like a bad comment on my plate of food. I ate 3/4 of the food as I was very hungry, but as for the rest of it I was gob smacked on how badly things were cooked or Not cooked ie poached egg was so under the white was raw on the whole bottom, the plate had 2mls of water floating from the undrained spinach, the hash rostee was half cold and dripping in greese I was told by the rude owner she could not see a problem and that I had clearly eaten half of it so there's no problem wirh the food ! NO apology at all Definitely the worst place I have eaten at and very rude owner. First time I have complained about food, we eat out frequently, she did not accept the bad cooking and did not respond in a polite way at all. Do NOT recommend this cafe...

Went for brunch today, had the loaded fries, well I would say unloaded fries. I think I counted about 8 pieces of ham and the cheese was non existent, hardly any sauce and the sour cream was not good (due to being under the heat lamp for so long), the fries were soggy, I watched our food get put out and it sat under the heat lamp for a good 10 mins before it was brought to our table. Our coffee came 10 mins after our meal. We waited nearly 30 mins for food, I know it labour weekend but really they should have been prepared for this and had more staff on, I felt so sorry for the young girl making coffee, not only was she making it she was delivering it to the tables, absolutely rushed off her feet. She was very apologetic about the wait when she came to the table. Very...

We do not recommend this place any more! Terrible lunch here today. The advertised a burger and chips special. This was not a burger! We got bashed buns (no shape/squashed) with a tiny swipe of mayo dressing, some lettuce leaves and the smallest, thinnest chicken patty we have ever seen! There was absolutely no flavour & no other burger fillings. Where was the cheese or onion or sauce or tomato? A burger has a layer of fillings. This was a rip off and we had to wait over half an hour for this un-loved disgusting excuse which we left most of behind (guess the birds finished it). We get better burgers and cheaper from the fish & chip shop. This place is an embarrassment & a let down. It should not be part of Mitre 10!...
