Maddison Eatery — Restaurant in Canterbury

We had an amazing anniversary dinner at Maddison Eatery! The bruschetta was incredibly fresh, and the calamari was to die for—the dip and sliced chillies were a perfect touch. For the main course, the charcoal chargrilled chicken was a great choice, and the bone-in ribeye was cooked to perfection, with the roasted bone marrow adding a rich, indulgent element.

Desserts were just as impressive—the chocolate brownie was amazing, the pecan pie with whiskey liqueur was beautifully paired, and you can never go wrong with a classic apple crumble with warm sauce. Overall, fantastic food, great value for money, and a wonderful dining experience....

This is a very good place for when you are walking by, or when you don't want to spend time looking for something to eat in the very crowded town centre of Rolleston. The staff were great and the food menu, though limited, it was of good quality. However if you want to eat in the outside area for whatever reason, just be aware that there are no heaters outside which is a bit of a downer since this is a must across the south island in NZ. Overall, good experience. And just a note, I wish that there were more eatery places in that area of...

I had to downgrade my review from 5 to 1 stars. They changed the size of the desserts but did not change the price or even the name in the menu. You cannot change the food without letting the customer know. When we said we are disappointed, the owner tried to convince us that we are wrong. Disappointing experience. The owner also said that the chef is open for criticism. Its not about the chef! Its about how you treat customers when they are disappointed... Btw, we paid the full price then. Obviously hard to find good hospitality...
