Robert Harris Timaru — Restaurant in Canterbury

Not happy went to Robert Harris cafe on Sunday took some friends from chch just to go somewhere nice But very disappointed Our friends ordered first then us, our meal arrived first the crossiants could have been in the oven a bit longer friends still waiting for their poached eggs on toast and blt, so we have just about finished and our friends are still waiting, questions we're asked their meal arrived the plate was hot but the blt wasn't the eggs were good but warm bread wasn't Toast and the plate was awash with water My coffee was good but had to send my wife's coffee as it wasn't to her expectations Limted cabinet food the scone looked dry and coated with flour Also we noted the other people were getting their meal before us and our friends even though we had...

Had 5 orders, 2 of which were off the menu and 3 from the cabinet. One of the cabinet scones came straight away but then they held the rest back till the menu items were ready - which was 35mins and only after I went back to the counter to enquire - staff seemed lost and unsure what was happening. Meals came out quickly after that - missing butter and clearly very rushed presentation - tasted ok though. Took my 90 yr old mother into this cafe for lunch today...4 people ahead of us in the queue. A waitress came to us and I asked if my mother who has a mobility walker could sit down for five mins while I dropped my car at the garage 2 doors down (for WOF). I explained I would be back in five mins and we would order then BUT no she told me they were too busy!! I also am using one crutch at the moment as I recover from a hip replacement.
