Urban Revival — Restaurant in Canterbury

25 minutes for 2 coffees for half of our table. The other 2 just never arrived - even after asking after them each time the waitress tried to take the table number away.

There was a large table of about 20 booked in, which probably resulted in the bad service. But if you don’t have enough staff or the skill to handle a party that size - why accept the booking? It just makes for a poor experience for everyone there.

On top of that, the food was really average. I had the eggs Benedict and the eggs were dry and overcooked. No one else was thrilled with what they had either.

Decided to go try somewhere new for coffee on Friday, well that will be a first and a last, about 8 tables empty but only two you could sit at as the others had not been cleared from previous customers, not a great look when you walk in, the staff looked so miserable that it made you feel uncomfortable (maybe that’s not the job for them) the atmosphere was non existent, I ordered a pasta salad which was awful it was floating in a balsamic vinegar type dressing, when I picked up the sugar pot it was dirty and sticky, can safely safe I won’t be going back. I was excited to treat myself to a Salmon Egg Bennie after visiting here ages ago and it being the best I had. I was disappointed to find that the salmon fillet I remember has been replaced with smoked salmon slices (disappointing but understandable given the current times) but that there was so little of it given the price. Secondly, within the next 2 hours after eating I was hit by several bouts of diarrhoea and even now I'm still feeling sick. This experience combined has definitely put me off ever going back. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere is always pleasant, it's a shame the food was such a let down this...
