Castle Rock Cafe — Restaurant in Christchurch

Been eating here for years. Always had a good experience. Unfortunately, after today, we won't be back. Arrived at 1.45pm with a party of 6 wanting to have lunch after my step fathers memorial. The girl behind the counter told us that they weren't interested in serving us despite the kitchen closing at 2.30pm. She proceeded to tell us that they were more interested in closing early and going home. Terribly rude service from both staff members. We will never be back, and also not recommending this place to anyone, ever again.

Edit... Interesting response from the owner. First of all, we did arrive before 2pm, please don't lie. We took a photo together with our friends outside at 1.48pm then entered the Cafe.

It's disappointing that you don't offer any sort of resolution, considering we are loyal customers that have been eating...

Awsome little cafe out the way. In quiet a little secluded industrial area on the way towards Lyttleton. Very cool looking little cafe and lots to order on the menu. The fried chicken could of been a little crispyer but the food was awesome meat lovers pizza was pretty good to. The only gripe I would have for this place is the table and toilet seat was sticky from the cleaning products being used maybe need to water down the solution a bit more. This place is also dog friendly there is a cool little gated area for ur fur babies with water bowls. These guys also do first table. Very friendly staff and nice n quick service. Thanks...

Went for brunch today and ordered x3 Bacon and banana waffles and 2 got brought out and last one was incorrect even tho I question it about confirming the last one was a bacon and banana one. Chef brings out a soggy berry and ice cream waffles and then proceeds to say they can’t remake it as they had no bananas and said they couldn’t make any dishes again. Didn’t offer me a refund and tried to offer me a voucher why would I want to come back? As for the 1 star I would of given 0 stars if I could. Want good customer services wouldn’t recommend...
