Mugen Sushi (Wigram) — Restaurant in Christchurch

Hit and miss. I actually had a good first experience with a selection of sushi and a salmon bowl. The second time was just bad.. ordering any of the small dishes thats not suppose to be eaten cold (e.g. takoyaki) is probably not a good idea as there's no warming at the station. I even had the meal before the main lunch crowd which indicates its prepared early and left to sit cold. The tuna poke bowl had fish scales still it in and the most expensive bowl the chicken katsu curry is a complete let down.. old, undercooked breast, rubbery chicken skin drowned in pre-mix curry with rice for $20.90?? 22nd February 2020 - this is their second sushi 🍣 shop and it is in the same building with Akaroa Salmon. Now you can bet that their salmon dishes are fresh and delicious 😋.

Just like their original place in Moorhouse Avenue, you pick your own sushi 🍙🍣🍤🍥🍘by using a tong and put into your plate. Each selection is priced differently and is clearly displayed.

Warning: just make sure you get what you want to eat, as the cost accumulates quite quickly! 😅

However, I do find their vehicle entrance is a bit hard to access. This site is close to the corner/ intersection of Treffers Road and Wigram Road, and is near the flyover bridge. That's the only downside.
