As one of the most loyal customer of Sala, I don’t think there’s enough words that could express my affection to this coffee shop.

As a coffee lover myself, I generally had pretty high standard for coffee and coffee shops. And Sala is no doubt No.1 in my favorite coffee shop lists in Chch.

When I first moved in this city, I was frustrated by the low-quality coffee served in most shops here, and there’s basically no specialty coffee around. And this makes me very … sad. And Sala saved me from my depression! The owner, Edwardo, was coffee specialist and passionate (and there’s a universal fraternity among all the coffee lovers around the world ). The quality of drink - from black coffee, chocolate to chai are top quality, and consistent. And there’s always a good variety of high quality filter coffee to choose from.

A unique little cafe with a bright comfortable atmosphere. Wasn’t hard to find a park, easy access to the cafe. A cute little cafe with plenty of seating. Wasn’t much of a food selection at all, no kitchen and half the food items were sold out and was only 10am, were told they weren’t making any more items. Latte was great, smooth and a nice texture. The hot chocolate on the other hand wasn’t to our taste, had no flavour, tasted like powdery flavour a bit just wasn’t nice. If you love specialty coffees and teas this is the place though.
