I would like to agree with the earlier feedback about our group of ten that dined at Pepperjacks for a 50th wedding anniversary celebration on the Saturday evening prior to Christmas. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress apologised for it being overfilled, when questioned on how could a bottle get overfilled she said that it was a part bottle topped up from a carafe. That’s a first experience for us and we were all dumbfounded and too shocked to insist on asking for a new bottle to be opened at the table.

Three Salt and Pepper Squid were ordered for entrees and there was more salad than there was squid and definitely not seasoned as one would expect. However, the Chicken Livers were great.

Now to the main, why did I order the Mixed Grill and not the Fillet Steak. Well it sounded so good and interesting when reading the menu, well what turned up was a small plate with a small piece of greyish tough chicken, a small supermarket Italian sausage and a very tough and poor cut of steak and after one bite I left it on the plate. The two fillet steaks and the pasta meal were good meals.

All restaurants have their bad nights, but when we mentioned our disappointment regarding the Calamari and Mixed Grill the Manager was not interested in trying to appease our feedback.

We are locals who have dined here before in our large family group and we always try to support local business, however, we will not be back. This is a perfect setting for family dining as the younger members of the family have the outdoor area to play on and so do not annoy other diners, although on this Saturday night there were only 2 other tables occupied.

I'm not one to leave reviews however in this case I felt I should. Last night at Pepperjacks our party of ten was quite dissatisfied. Whilst most meals were good, the calamari entrees were all salad and very little calamari, the mixed grills were appalling and a bottle of wine came to the table overfilled. When I enquired about the wine the waitress said there was some wine left over in another bottle so they had topped it into this one! Being a special occasion I didn't feel I should complain about the wine and I wasn't drinking it anyway. We did mention the mixed grills politely yet the manager didn't care and just stated it was one of their most popular meals. He also gave the impression it was just a mixed grill so what did we expect? I did expect more the way it was described and the fact that it was one of their most expensive options. Well the chicken was dry, the Italian sausage was tiny and unimpressive and the marinated beef cheap, tough and tasteless. This was a Saturday night two days out from Christmas and there were only a few tables full. We have dined here other times in the past and it's been full and the food has been good, clearly something has changed and the management needs to recognise that they have to improve. Went there for lunch today. Three people. Ordered two plates of fish and chips, and one chicken curry. The fish and chips was more like an entree, really small pieces of fish, but made to look big, the fish seemed to be coated in two inches of batter. A hand full of fries placed under the fish so there soaked in oil. Then some smearing of Aioli or something around the plate rim contaminating the remainder fries. (should have been on the side) Asked for tomato sauce and the waitress bought out only one small dish, had to ask for another. Had to ask for salt and pepper. The other dish, the chicken curry, was served up a good 7 minutes after the first two orders. Then when it arrived it was barely warm. Had to be taken back and reheated. That took another 5 minutes. It was more like a chicken stew or soup that you'd make at home. The Poppadom was literally dripping with oil and was disgusting. Would normally have complained in person, but as it was a birthday didn't want to make an unnecessary fuss. Will not be going back.
