"Ethos" the hidden gem. I highly recommend this cafe for the coffee, food, service, and more importantly what it stands for. We were greeted with a warm and inviting welcome and smile. The coffee was fantastic rich and smooth with a good hit. The decor suits the vibe perfectly. A sort of eclectic mix of old and new that made you feel a sense of belonging and relaxation. I also really enjoyed the soulful mix of music that wasn't over powering but rather put me in a mood of wanting to sing along and dance but also gave me an emotional connection to the place. I had the mince on toast with a poached egg and it was a 10/10. It oozed home grown love of a New Zealand classic which made me want more. This place makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, people working for the community and helping artists, potters, and creatives get their names out and be seen. All under the umbrella of a cafe, but it is so much more than that. The food and people are absolute stars! The menu is world class and presented so well. The building is loaded with character and it is just so fun and cozy. Today I had an iced mocha and the big breakfast. The karage chicken was juicy and succulent and ever so yummy.
