First time experience here. Ordered 2x beef eye fillet (Med well), we waited so long for it too. By the time it came out it looked fab. When my husband and I cut into our pieces of steak, the meat was overcooked - grey and dry. Steak was charred (see pic) . Chewing was a mission because it was just so tough that it feels like its scraping the inside of my mouth. Couldn't be bothered making a complaint because we just want to quickly eat and go home (dining with 2 kids and a baby). The waitress came and checked on us, I commented on it. She notified the kitchen and never returned until we were about to leave. Her response was, "told the kitchen and it is hard to cook to the right consistency". Really..... Is that a good excuse? We've tried better steak at other restaurants, this is our first disappointment. Not keen to return. Forgot to mention, we ordered wedges, most of the edges were burnt, would be nice to put the sweet chilli sauce on the side rather than drizzled all over, because my girls couldn't have any.

Our first time at The Wayward Pigeon was more than a little disappointing. Initially impression is that the ambience is nice enough. The pizza and garlic bread that came out were also nice enough, but not huge for the money. This theme was continued into the mains. I ordered fish of the day, which was unbelievablely small. This was a $34 main with fillets that surely came from a goldfish. (check the photos) At this point I raised the problem with the waitress who promptly replaced it. However this time with just one, still small fillet. The remainder of the dish was Greek salad and perla potatoes. The salad was nothing more than a pile of leaves with two dollops of tzatsiki flavoured dressing. Overall very basic pub fare with exorbitant city prices. There is many better places to go where you'll pay less.Details had not been passed on.

We went in last week Thursday for dinner. Nice food but we waited close to an hour to be served our food , our mood was dampered by the wait time we just wanted to finish our food and leave. When we went up to the front to pay for our meals they had notified us that they were down a chef , but I think it would have been better if they had told us at the start when we first placed our order . If you have kids take into account the peak hours and maybe reserve a table earlier in the evening and that it is also a bar and restaurant and that they'll also be serving food to the bar side. It's getting closer to Christmas so I think there are large groups being booked in around this time.

I recently had the misfortune of dining at The Wayward Pigeon, and I must say, it was a truly disappointing experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this establishment lacks even the most basic understanding of customer service.

The staff's attitude was appalling. Not a single smile or warm greeting was offered upon entry. Instead, I was met with indifference and a distinct feeling that I was an inconvenience. As if that weren't bad enough, the level of rudeness only escalated as the evening went on. It's as if the staff had a collective mission to make patrons feel unwelcome.

But the worst part of the evening was undoubtedly the food. I struggle to find the words to describe just how awful it was. The dishes were not only lacking in flavor but seemed to be prepared with a complete disregard for quality. The presentation was lackluster, and the taste was nothing short of repulsive. It was as if they took the cheapest ingredients they could find and haphazardly slapped them together without any consideration for taste or culinary finesse.

One would assume that a place that charges the prices they do would at least provide a decent dining experience, but sadly, that was not the case. To top it all off, when I tried to express my dissatisfaction to the server, they brushed me off and offered no apology or attempt to rectify the situation. It was clear that they couldn't care less about the opinions or concerns of their customers.

In conclusion, my visit to The Wayward Pigeon was an absolute disaster. From the horrendous attitude of the staff to the abysmal quality of the food, I cannot find a single redeeming quality about this establishment. I strongly advise anyone considering dining here to save their money and their time. There are far better options available where you can actually enjoy a pleasant meal and be treated with the respect you deserve as a...

Where to start?

Service: Poor After waiting at least 15mins to be served after being seated, we started thinking we had been forgotten about in the courtyard. Being served by a guy who needs to learn the basics of customer service... What to do: Smile, hold the door open for customers (when you only have menus in your hand) so the door doesn't close on them, smile, don't tell customers that some of their order was mucked up in the kitchen, use common sense and oh yeah...Smile! What no to do: the opposite to all of the above. A friendly "How was your meal?" or "Have a great day!" after settling bill would have been nice but didn't even get that. When your friends comes in, don't forget about the rest of us. We're paying customers too!

Food: Average Came out without cutlery (as we were sitting in courtyard). Waited for about 5mins thinking they were bringing it with our other dish but had to go inside to ask before our food went cold. Suggestion for poached eggs. Before putting on toast, please make sure water is fully drained as our toast went soggy with all the water you could see just on top of the eggs. This may have also been the result of no cutlery to be able to get into it before the toast went soggy.

Overall: Not so great of a time After our first visit to Wayward Pigeon, we won't be in a hurry to come back. We heard mix reviews about it and wanted to try ourselves but left highly disappointed. We could have come on an off day with some of the staff working yesterday but really that's...
