Being a Brit, I've been brought up on a diet of regular takeaway curries, and to further feed my addiction, I am very pleased to have found this restaurant. I was drawn by the five-star rating, and to my surprise they absolutely delivered in my opinion. Most Indian restaurants in the area don't properly remove all cartilage from the meat and you get that horrible crunchy surprise, but these guys have gotten it right every time - nice, lean chicken. Chicken Tikka Masala is great, Chicken Jalfrezi is great, Lamb Kadai (which I accidentally ordered) was amazing, Chicken Bhuna is great, Chicken Biryani has lovely additions such as currants and fried onion which give a great taste - I don't think I've ordered a single bad dish from these guys, even the accidental order.
I've tried four other Indian takeaways in the area including in Orewa, and this is totally my go-to. Price is typical, if not a little cheaper than others. The staff are super nice too. Always smiling and enthusiastic to welcome you.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Spice Avenue, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The restaurant's ambiance was inviting and cozy, setting the perfect tone for a memorable meal.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food. We indulged in their famous Butter Chicken, which was creamy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The Lamb Saagwala was equally impressive, with tender pieces of lamb cooked to perfection in a flavorful spinach sauce.
What sets them apart is their attention to detail and customer preferences. They were more than happy to adjust the spice levels of our dishes according to our preference, ensuring that every bite was tailored to our liking.
Moreover, the service was impeccable. The staff and owner was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
I highly recommend Spice Avenue to anyone craving exceptional Indian cuisine coupled with...

We did order panned tika , veg platter and they too were yum.
In the main we ordered dal tadka and palak paneer and that was yum too.
On top of that the service was very good, we had a 2 years old daughter and asked them to get some non spicy planner and chowmein for her, and in 10 Minutes we had her food as well. Many restaurant would deny doing a small portion of a meal . Amazing service .
