Lovely lady served me, when I asked about the battered oysters I was assured they cooked their oysters in a lovely light crisp batter, I ordered 1 doz battered oysters and 1 blue cod which I paid $48 dollers for and left driving back to Gore. Sure enough the batter was beautiful...but the oysters were not fresh at all, I tried to ignore the taste, hoping maybe it was just the random 1, however .this was not the case..by the time I got to Invercargill I needed to go to the bathroom. Needed to get back to Gore by 3pm and now not feeling too well I didn't drive all the way back to Bluff to show them and was just going to accept this waste of money and food poisoning and let it go. I spent most of the night in the bathroom. My daughter encouraged me to ring them which I have and have been told to ring back at 8.05 pm. Can highly recommend the Bluff breakfast, a breakfast in the tradition of my father with fried potatoes poached or fried eggs, a very large sausage and helping of bacon with toast. Perfect start to the day in these cooler climbs. Their omelets are delicious too. They serve great coffee and a ample hot chocolate. The fish was beautifully cooked, moist and coated in a crispy batter-not the standard soggy coating you get in so many other places. Chips were crinkle cut, well cooked.
