Ding Hao — Restaurant in Kaipātiki

This dim sum restaurant offers a pleasant and roomy atmosphere, ideal for hosting family and friends for birthday, wedding or event gatherings. With fast service and reasonable prices, it's a convenient choice. We visited to sample their dim sum but were a little disappointed by the BBQ Pork Bun, which lacked filling. While the appearance of the egg tart was enticing, the taste fell flat. Perhaps it is suitable for those who prefer minimal sweet pastries. The filling of the steamed egg custard bun (流沙包) was disappointing as it didn't flow as it should have. Overall, other dishes were good, and some were merely average. Came in here for yum cha and ordered 2 extra dishes from the menu, (blue cod fish and fried lamb shanks). Food from the main menu were fine, however the food from the yum cha cart that were served was off and stale. We ordered about 6 or 7 dishes fr the cart and in our table found that the tofu skin roll, chicken feet and deep fried sesame ball were stale and tasted off. Very disappointing that a fully established restaurant would dare to serve days old food to customers. When we approached the staff member, she neither acknowledged or apologized but instead just offered a small jelly for free - which doesn't atone for the leftover...

Not appealing. Seriously. I ordered the "Lemon Chicken" and expected it to be just fried chicken with some lemon like the image on the menu was showing. Instead, we got a disgusting plate of chicken lazily cooked as it tasted like a burnt sugar bread with no flavour and had an appalling aftertaste.
