Customer Service Not Great

We (2 of us) travelled from Wellington back to Marton where my brothers and sisters were raised by our beloved parents to visit The Club Hotel as our whānau of 80 will return late May to celebrate my milestone birthday so we wanted to book the Club Hotel for dinner. We phoned earlier today to book for tea tonight at 7:30pm and had advised of our intentions to make a large booking for late May. We were told no problems. Upon arrival we were barely given the time of day and were told they were fully booked as a group of 15 were on their way in. We tried to explain how our booking was accepted and proceeded to explain more. The lady was so very rude…and all she had to say was we did not speak to her so she would have words with other staff member then quickly recommended we visit another eatery. Not good enough. Thanks for recommending another eatery cause the meal was AMAZING so we have booked here which will be an easy $2000 for them. Recommend you improve your...

This hotel and restaurant getting away cause its the only one . the worst food. I ever had. I travel countries, i saw bad food but this one na. All half cooked smelly pork belly, and raw prawns were just tossed in the hot butter and were smelly , and with steamed veggies and no flavor just bland. We traveled all the way here cause of the rating, na don't be deceived.

Pork belly try to chew and chew still couldn't able to get one food bite into me finally spit it all out. Drink don't ask.

I finally couldn't stop myself but ask the person serving if the owner of the hotel is cooking the food. Was told actully she cooks and today they got a proper chef. ....

Marton's Club Hotel is an awesome restaurant, with top quality food & generous portions allowing for hearty appetites. Spacious for families, couples and groups alike. Love the atmosphere & history displayed in the decor. Staff were friendly and communicative; we didn't have to wait very long even though they were busy. Good taste in background music, too. Recommend their pork dumplings, and their chips are out...
