This was a great stop for morning coffees and a muffin, the coffee was great and the muffin was even better. The three young ladies working there were also really neat, efficient and happy, although one was maybe feeling the hard work of the long weekend as she said maybe its time to go back to school after dropping some coffee grounds 🙃, she had the most beautiful hair. The food looked so good we bought our lunch as well and ate it with great delight at the Tokaanu wharf, perfect....

Small little cafe we stopped at on our way to Taupo for breakfast. Parking right outside and you are greeted by the scent of the large lavender bushes outside and inticed inside by the aroma of fresh coffee. We were quickly seated. Nice selection of fresh baked goods, pies, scones, cakes etc. Menu is on the wall and most of us went with the eggs benedict and large coffee. Coffee was amazing and the food fresh and delicious. Lovely food selection but we're here to talk medal winning pies! Their Pulled Pork and Jalapeño pie won bronze in the 2024 Bakels.

Beautiful pastry with a top as light as a feather. Lovely rich pork which for me could do with a smidge more smoke but the sharp jalapeños add a flavour punch and cut the richness.

Served with salad and relish. Make sure you try the relish with the pie for a lovely chilli...
