I have been to Naseby on several occasions in the last few years and was hoping that the new management would make a positive change to my experience. No.. this didn't happen. On my last visit in January (not on a busy weekend and the cafe was not particularly busy) the staff members taking the orders and making coffee were disinterested in me and chatting between themselves rather than trying to get through the building queue. Service was very slow - over 20 minutes wait for our coffees. I could understand if the place was busy but there were several empty tables. I was surprised to see that there was no traditional cooked english breakfast option- surely this should be a staple offering? The cafe could do very well with the right management and by doing basic things well rather than trying to be too fancy and...

Very nice. From early in the morning we found the fire blazing in this Clean and popular Cafe in Nasbey.

The ownership has changed twice since it won the high accolades 🙌 of best cafe in NZ, however it certainly feels like it's in good hands in terms of the food.

We had breakfast. Eggs bene and eggs on toast. Both with bacon 🥓 as an add on. It was really nice and the offer too was great.

The cakes and.savory offerings on display looked wonderful.

The only thing missing was a warm smile without invitation. There was no rudeness at all, and when I communicated with 3 staff during the visit they all responded well. There just lacked that open greeting from those naturally placed front of house I hospo. Well worth a...

Excellent cafe tucked away a small central Otago village called Nasby whole lot of choices of where to eat but that is absolutely no problem when you’ve got this cafe! We popped in for brekky as we were staying on a nearby property for a couple of nights. We were greeted by very friendly staff and a large open cafe with a variety of seats and a lovely wood fire. The menu has a few options, but there are also fresh cakes, wraps, and sandwiches on offer. I opted for the corn fritters and my partner the savory waffles, and they were both excellent in every way! Tasty, beautifully presented, fresh, and great serving sizes. The coffee was also great. I would highly...

Amazing, a hidden gem. After a long drive I didn't expect to find anything great, but the Black Forest Cafe was a great surprise. It looks pretty unassuming from the outside, a nice country town cafe, but it's the home to great coffee and delicious food. I had a 'corn fritter stack' - lots of great flavours that worked really wel together, I'd definitely recommend it. I had a well-made tasty latte to follow. The food was so good I picked up some cakes for the journey.
