The restaurant is located in the block of shops around the West Tamaki Road and Elstree Ave Roundabout. Keep an eye out for the Mexican Food signs. The shop is decently sized and has so much chocolate-related information and pictures on the wall. The counter has lots of chocolate-based snacks as well as the menu behind it. The menu isn't very big but does have pictures of the food. You order at the counter and they bring it out once it's ready. I went with the hot chocolate as well as a prawn tostada and a sweet bread. The chocolate wasn't overly sweet and had a nice depth of flavour. I really liked the tostada since it was very fresh and tasty. I did find it on the smaller side since it disappeared quite fast. They made the sweet bread after I had finished the meal and it was like a sweet cinnamon balloon. It was a really nice cafe with really tasty food. It is a bit hidden though so it might be a bit hard to get to, particularly since it's only open on...
Read moreFriendly staff. I personally loved the soy hot chocolate but it may be too deep/thick and not sweet enough for children or anyone expecting something more like milo. Feels like it was made with cacao & cinnamon with cream or soy milk and then thickened. The mango juice and the choc fig brownie/cake were delicious, the cake being my highlight. The sweet breads were nice enough too, simple puffed bread balls with cinnamon and sugar, cant go wrong. My family ordered the chicken enchilada and said the chicken was nice but didn't really enjoy the green sauce which we think was made from a pureed vegetable and coriander. My mum who loves coriander didn't like the sauce either. I'm not sure but if you don't like coriander maybe stick to the beef wrap which has rave reviews. My brother ordered the prawn tostada too which was nice enough. I ordered what I think was spicy beans on grilled capsicum. It was okay, no spice though. All in all an...
Read moreHere we went today for a late brush. Outside it looks like an old barn.... surprise when you enter lots of light and the most artfully decorated clean space. With enormous style the whole room filled with super interesting things and write ups about chocolate and its history. Service friendly and caring. Food felt just right for our tastebuds. José and Maria and their helper are friendly and attentive. The place feel human. No toffynose chef here. This is what we are about, brought up with and what we are used to eat at home and now sharing with you. Not what we have learned in a Cordon Blue class and now looking down at the once who have not done the class.....becauce feeling they are better than you who are paying the bill..... We highly recommend this place superb minimalistic menu and service. You find also small chocolate related items to buy. Thank you for...
