Westshore Beach Inn — Restaurant in Napier

My husband and I had lunch here when staying in Napier for a couple of days. The lady who served us was wonderful. She was super friendly and had a lovely manner. We sat outdoors. The setting was just so-so. The three stars is really for the food. I asked about the pork ribs, whether it had heaps of sugar. "Oh, no, no", came the answer. When my meal arrived, there was a nice-looking salad on the plate, some chips and a separate plate of ribs. I can't complain about the price. It was really good value for money. The chips were really nice, too. But the ribs, although cooked really well, were so sickly sweet, and then I ate the salad which had a really, really sweet dressing on it. I felt like I was eating a dessert. My husband had the fish, and he said it was just ok.

Pros: Great value for money. Really lovely serving staff (at least the lady we had), yummy chips. Cons: Overall the food wasn't that good. It was quite noisy with the traffic, and the outdoor setting out the front wasn't that nice.

2nd stay here. It was a last minute booking, they handled my lateness so well and the recent drop In pricing was definitely attractive. The staff are so lovely and engaging. I felt anxious going into the packed out restaurant/bar area by myself while the rugby was on but the staff helped by being friendly and holding genuine conversation. I ordered a meal and they offered to deliver it to my room which was so great after driving 12hrs over the last 24 hours, it will definitely be my continued choice of accomodation when visiting Napier. The rooms are nice and tidy with plenty of space and sky in the rooms is so good! Only critique is the strong smell of I assume cleaning products but given I booked at 7pm perhaps staff didn’t have time to air the room out. All in all-...

What an outstanding venue to be at. We had my daughter’s 21st in the Pak room. Cannot thank Garth enough for his amazing service and kindness. Nothing was a problem and everything we needed was provided. The staff were super friendly, helpful and ran on time. Huge thank you to the chef for cooking so many meals and they were delicious! The portion sizes were huge, great value for your money. The chef can sure cook a piece of steak to perfection. Thank you to all as we had a great night, one to remember. Thanks for making it run so smoothly.
