Benny and Brew — Restaurant in North Island

As other reviews have said, they all stand true - I can confirm that! Visited Benny & Brew, had Avo Cuddle with Bacon and Iced Latte which both were amazing! The Bread seem nice and soft, had perfectly toasted, avo on top with the salad and dressing was perfect. Didn't take any photo's but both were amazing.

After sitting there for an hour, I found it to be a local's favourite and apparently their chocolate mousse was everyone's favourite. Being curious, I took it as takeaway for late night dessert.

When the time came in night, I had experienced abit of shock of being lost a precious item, all worried up the chocolate mousse was outside. I thought lets have that first before it melts. and Ohhh mann the flavour seriously made me forget what I was thinking before such a nice texture with couple of layer of surprise hidden underneath the mousse. Yummmm. In mater of mins It was finished and I came back to my reality, amazed and writing this review.

Lovely suburban cafe, with nice staff and family friendly vibe. Al fresco dining also available. We had two coffees, the egg and bacon bun, and the Benny plus a couple of sides. My coffee tasted nice, but was 3/4 full( not my request). The food was ok. Really greasy and no ingredients to cut through the fat content( like a bit of salad for example) just a really heavy hand with the butter or perhaps a greasy grill. maybe we just ordered the wrong items. their crepes and gallette looked really good.

Overall, would recommend if you are in the area but won’t drive there as a destination...

Have just come to the end of a year traveling backwards and forwards to Tauranga supporting our elderly mum and Benny's became our local escape. So lucky to find a cafe that offered great food (love the galettes!), consistently excellent coffee and friendly service. We live in a high tourist area outside of Sydney and don't have a local cafe that offers interesting and quality food like Benny's.
