Was really disappointed in our stay. Although the room was nice and the staff were lovely it still won't be a place we would book again. Emailed if possible for early checkin (which was stated it may be possible in their confirmation email) I never heard back so lack if communication. Went to checkin which seemed abit of a hassle as 2 staff there had to fetch another to check me in. Was expecting a nice view of hasting got the the back garden. Was really looking forward to having a romantic dinner in the restaurant in the outside area I could see from the room but upon going to the restaurant, (even thou it was more or less empty both times I went in) we were told they were booked out. What made me annoyed was there was a OPEN Board Sign clearly displayed outside. So we had to drive to the city to look for some dinner. We couldn't have breakfast as we checked out before the cafe opened. So we didn't get to enjoy the beautiful looking restaurant we saw in the pictures at all.
During the night we ended up having to hear an argument that we could hear clearly from our room as they seemed onsite then early hours a party we could hear clearly but didn't sound like it was on PeakHouse site itself.
This was one night me and my partner decided to spoil ourselves in a lavish hotel unfortunately other than the friendly staff and room atmosphere I have to say we would stick to AirBnBs as we've walked away more satisfied and happy with our stay in Airbnb then...
Read moreWe visited this cafe located on the slopes of Te Mata Peak during Auckland anniversary, and the view was absolutely stunning! Luckily, we got a spot on the outdoor deck where we could see the city from all angles. The interior decor was charming, with many dog photos on the entrance wall, indicating the owner's love for dogs. It's worth mentioning that this cafe is pet-friendly, which makes sense with all the dog photos! The food was delicious; we ordered the big breakfast and seafood chowder. I particularly loved the seafood chowder—it was flavorful without being too heavy, with a perfect blend of salmon and various seafood in the soup. I even felt like the bread served with it was not enough for me! Highly recommended. The big breakfast was generous in portion size and tasted great, and the coffee was also excellent. I heard they have a buy-one-get-one-free burger deal on Thursdays, which might be hard to come by, but it sounds like a perfect idea to enjoy dinner and watch the sunset here. If you're in Hastings, make sure to give this...
Read moreThis was the worst breakfast we have ever had. Which is a shame to be honest cause the view and the space is to die for. We ordered our sandwiches because they don’t serve actual breakfast or have chefs which is absolutely crazy to me. We sat down outside and we had to wait to take down our own coffees 20 metres outside while all staff just stood around chatting. We asked for a tray to take our coffees down and we’re told to just take them as they are. Then there was a buzzer to run back up again and pick up our meals, which were pre made sandwiches and absolutely disgusting the chicken had bits of cartilage in it and was basically all mayonnaise. Did they want us to run the dishes up for them aswell?. Wasn’t able to enjoy our meal looking over the amazing view as we were running around delivering terrible...
