So, I went to this cafe on a farm in the Hamilton suburbs (Tamahere) and, well, the place is pretty nice and spacious indoors with a cute little courtyard. But here's the thing: they only allow friends who don't bring their dogs. Apparently, if you do bring your furry buddy, they'll stick you in a dodgy little house that's kinda dirty and moldy 🫣Not very welcoming, right? Now, about the food: it's okay, I guess. I had the scramble and it was pretty spicy, but that's fine since I was so hungry. However, my mates who were with me weren't impressed with their meals, saying they were small and overpriced. The dish has the word "classic" after the name of the restaurant, which made us think it was gonna be a big breakfast, but it wasn't, and it wasn't very filling for the price. Speaking of price, each dish costs around $27-30 on average, so you better bring some cash.

Beautiful cafe! We came on father's day. It was incredibly busy, but we got a seat and service was nice and quick considering how busy it was. Serving staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. The food is fantastic. Portion sizes are good and hearty so you feel you are getting value for money. I love when cafe's have some options that aren't quite your classic breakfast options. So I had to get the bangers on toast. The sausages were lovely and meaty with a light spice. The tomato kasundi took the dish to the next level. Would highly recommend. The counter has some amazing looking sweet treats. We had to try the brownie and it lived up to expectations. So rich and gooey. Will definitely be returning.

Excellent facilities for cyclists. Very busy when I arrived at 1:00pm. I was politely advised to wait to be seated, waiting time for food was 35 minutes. After at brief wait I asked to be seated outside near my bike and advised the charming server that I only wanted tea and a slice. I was served immediately at the counter and only waited 5 minutes for my almond and orange cake, and pot of Earl Grey tea to arrive. It was perfect! The staff were calm and efficient whiskey catering to the needs of many customers 😀 I will make this a regular stop when cycling the Te Awa River Trail.

The positives: great venue, nice country feel and fun playground for the kids. Friendly staff. The negatives: Poor service (we had 2 wrong meals delivered to our table, 2 orders forgotten, and some items out of stock - no coke zero / no sugar coke) and a long wait overall when the cafe was only half full. Could I also suggest you get a second till to speed up paying / ordering cabinet food? At times you had 10 people waiting. The food was decidedly average and definitely at the top end of what you would pay at any cafe or restaurant so poor value for money. Some points: 1) Were the hash browns from a packet? Not cool for the price point you are charging 2) I would suggest using beef patties for the kids 'cheese' burgers not lamb (kids are picky buggas) and the kids said they couldn't find any cheese on them - there was a tiny thumb sized strip on them after careful inspection. Again $12 for a handful of chips and a slider size basic burger is too steep. 3) The $20 bowl of muesli was too rich - maybe fewer full nuts and some more oats and drop the price? So improve the service, make sure the quality of the food matches the high price or my recommendation would be to drop your...

Ive never walked out of a cafe before. But after waiting for 1.10 mins for breakfast when it wasn't that busy was not acceptable. We watched several people come in after us and get food before us. When we asked what was happening 40 mins after ordering we were asked, why... are you in a hurry? We just want to know when we may get what we ordered. He checked, came back and told us he had forgotten to place the order and the coffee and tea would be free. We understood, these things happen. Then as another 30 minutes passed with no contact from the staff or offer of another drink or some kind of time limit we thought.. ok, this is not good. We have it another few minutes then decided to get up and leave. As we were advising them we were leaving he started to come out with the food. By this stage we were hungry but in no mood to hand this place any money. So told them we were leaving. Now had the communication been better and maybe apologies and perhaps checking to see if we wanted anything while we waited happened, we may have stayed. I felt awful leaving but the service today was super poor and what would normally be one of my favourite places to go will be somewhere I...

Stopped in here for a brunch with the other half and 1 year old son on Saturday. Was busy but not a full house by any means. We got seated outside to start with which was fine..no rain at this stage. Young woman takes order for coffee and hot choc. Comes back with drinks and takes meal order including lunch for the young fella. We wait. Two lots served after us get their food. I ask for an update, no reply other than very busy. We wait. More people served. I ask again, young fella not happy as hes hungry as well. I also ask if we could sit inside as it starts to spit rain. No tables free so we stay outside. Waitress comes back a few mins later and says she forgot to place our order. This is 40-50 mins after we arrive. Also no offer for any other drinks during this time. She offers to put order through now for us with a lousy apology for forgetting. No offer for discount other than something from the cabinet food (sweets and scones). We get up and walk out the door the three of us half starved by now. Wont...
