Forever Bound Cafe — Restaurant in Waikato

The cafe is new and nicely designed, there is an extensive selection of cabinet food available and the usual set of meals to order. Prices are definitely on the high side. Didn't eat anything, however the food in the cabinet looked very appetizing and fresh, but I did order coffee. There was a good 15 -20 min delay on the coffee orders and it was not because the barista wasn't working her hardest. She didn't take a breather at all but it was clearly obvious that there should have been 2 on coffee. There was enough staff to do this, to be considered a reliable cafe you need to be able to respond timely to both customers at the table and to your take away customers. People were receiving their food before their coffees so you end up in the situation of coffees getting cold to be drunk after eating or having to drink your coffee during your meal. There were some staff who were really working hard and one or two fluffing around that could have stepped up and helped the barista...

While the atmosphere is nice, the waiting is not. We went in to have lunch and were told 15-20 minute wait and we thought fine however 30 minutes goes by so I go up and ask how much longer (I know it isn’t the poor girl out front that’s at fault) and was told another 5 minutes well after a total wait time of 40 minutes my partner finally got his food (the big brekky) but mine did not come out with his (eggs bene) it came about 3 minutes after… I was really disappointed at the wait time and then the dishes coming out at seperate times to top it off. We both had to get back to work so thought of leaving as it was such a long wait. The food was nice, the eggs were runny on the bene and the mushrooms were good too but I probably wouldn’t go back again as we paid around $70 for the breakfasts and two...

Service was very good however we did wait a while to have food orders taken.

Food is well overpriced for what you get. I ordered an eggs bene, and for $28 you’d expect runny eggs. That was not the case. The potato rostis were tiny and way overdone, instead of golden brown they were dark brown and hard crusty. They’re not stingy with the salmon, but the entire meal was tiny. I’m a small female and don’t eat a whole lot, and the meal wasn’t enough to satisfy my hunger.

We did however have a happy customer on our table who ordered the chicken burger. It looked good and apparently was “the bomb”.

Air conditioner would be good. I think if you’re going to charge that amount for the food, you should deliver to that standard. Or drop the prices to reflect the meals...
