Raglan Roast Food Department — Restaurant in North Island

This place has a casual, kind of homey feel but not much seating choice inside as most seating is outside on the deck. We tried the pizza, which is laid out in a glass case. You pick what appeals to you and they heat it up. It didn't look that appetizing but was actually pretty good. We did have a couple of issues with the place, the main one being that we were there on a very cold day, yet the large front entry, deck entry and another window were wide open. On top of that, there was no heater, so it was freezing inside! The other was this seemed to be the kind of place that's friendly to the locals but not so much to outsiders. We felt like we were intruding on the server while the locals coming in were warmly greeted. We tried to get gelato after our pizza but the proprietor was too busy chatting with the locals while making coffee; so we gave up and left. Came here because three travel places said it was The Place to go for coffee. We didn't end up ordering coffee but still enjoyed our drinks. The ice cream cabinet looks really interesting - with some unusual and yummy looking flavours, such as 'rice and cinnamon'. Most impressed with how cheap the coffee menu is! The Panko Chicken Wrap is super tasty, well made and huge - easily a full meal or more! Only, maybe warming it on a sandwich grill would be ideal prior to serving?

The Pepperoni pizza slice was large and pretty tasty, too... insanely fresh and hot! The packaging might need an extra little layer or bag, however - the pizza and its oil were burning.
