Worst meal I've had in 2 decades. I want the $46 I spent back. Warning against this place. At first it was nothing but chips till 5. So I ordered kumara fries, which I actually looked forward to as they're so chunky and yummy in Wellington. Instead , what I got was a bowl of thin, overdone oily kumara sticks with the quality of McDonald's fries made by rookie trainees. I tried to eat as Much as I could, but still had to leave half a bowl of it. I felt cheated and wished to have at least $6 of the $10 of it back. When who might have been the owner came to say Happy new year and picked up the bowl, she asked How was it, I said It was mostly inedible, she didn't respond to that at all, let alone responding in Kind, and just walked off with it. 10min past 5pm, still no one came to serve me. So as soon as the waitor came by, I added to order the salad which I knew I wanted. By then I already held very low expectations, as the chef who made the burnt kumara fries must have been having a bad day. Instead of what healthy full bowl or plate full of leafy greens, What i received was a square plate of a miscellaneous arrangement of items which tasted like nothing and were all cold and had no vinegary nor olive oil dressing or any healthy yummy dressing. Even the olives placed on the plate tasted like they came straight out of a can, and the string beans were completely boiled with no flavoring. I thought that perhaps the chef was a 3 year old? Or perhaps had Not been trained in the culinary art at all previously or...Again, having a bad day. I also thought, what did I not do today to deserve this bad luck and getting such terrible low quality food. And I felt obligated to eat it. I gave all of the badly seared untasty fish to my dog, who thankfully was hungry and gobbled them up. As soon as I cleaned up the plate I went to pay, and had to pay a sum of $46 ! For what are shown in the pictures attached .... I feel so cheated and felt that I needed to go home and make some convenient noodles or have some toast to finally feel full. Even food in remote parts of Cuba was much better than this... I sincerely hope for a refund if that is even possible. I advise against going to this place. Not because I'm being mean but truly because of the subpar service and cooking delivered to me in my experience today. Otherwise I wish you luck, perhaps the chef will have a better day and make things that actually have a taste when you drop in. Definitely going back to the other wonderful restaurant in the town center tomorrow evening.

A Memorable Celebration at The Wharf CafĂ© I recently had the pleasure of hosting my partner’s 60th birthday at The Wharf CafĂ©, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the experience. From start to finish, PJ, the owner, went above and beyond to make the night special. His level of professionalism and dedication was truly exceptional. PJ was incredibly helpful in every aspect of the event, from assisting with shuttle arrangements for our guests to offering advice on the best setup for the evening. His generosity and attention to detail ensured that everything ran smoothly. The food was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor, leaving everyone at the party raving. A special thank you to PJ and his wonderful staff, whose friendly and attentive service truly made the night memorable. I was even able to decorate the restaurant the night before, which added a personal touch to the event. The entire celebration was a success, thanks to the incredible hospitality and support from PJ and his team. I highly recommend The Wharf CafĂ© for any special occasion — they made my partner's milestone birthday unforgettable. A huge thank you once again! Sheree and David

The Wharf kitchen is perfectly placed by the pier with stunning views of the water. The Fish (Snapper) & Chips ordered was good. But a few things were definitely missing, the lightness of a beer battered “crumbed” fish, there was only one portion of fish where usually for that price it would usually come with two. I didn’t like how I needed to pay an additional $1 for a crumbed fish (which usually fish and chips it’s already battered), and the little sauces were also a dollar extra each. Maybe for a takeaway option absolutely, but we were dining there and still needed to pay for those. A bit silly. No option to have it on the side or anything. Fish and chips were tasty nonetheless.

Where to start!? This place is no “kitchen” and definitely no restaurant, anyone could whip up their food using food out of a supermarket clearance trolley. The absolute worst worst worst meal I’ve ever had at a restaurant
I eat out often and this place is the pits; my lemongrass eating cat has better taste than this place. Firstly a man who appeared to be the owner, was overly present in the restaurant and talked way to much to 3-4 patrons, and to us walked right passed the table and asking if everything was ok without stopping or allowing us to give feedback đŸ€·đŸŒâ€â™‚ïž The waiting service was 3⭐ average, and we were left to go and order our own food from the bar when another large group was served first who arrived half an hour after us - in fact the first time we tried to order at the bar, a kid refused saying it was the waiters job and to sit back down. Maybe the chatty man could have been taking orders too? The entree was bland, only just warm, without even the right amount of salt and had bizarre garnish additions never served with that dish. And the mains!?
Dry half cold meat, sauce probably from a Pam’s jar, over dressed salad, dry stale bread, dry rice probably from a microwave cup, raw floury potato chips, and amount other strange ingredients, more bizarre garnishes. It was served impossibly fast and parts tasted like freezer burn and parts were clearly microwave heated. The drinks were ok but it’s nearly impossible to get what we ordered wrong. When we went to pay, the staff asked how things were, how could we improve (honestly honey how about shutting down or get an actual chef and new much smaller menu - it will save your wallet pain). We provided the above feedback as nice as possible and the response was disingenuous; “I’m sorry you felt that way” and handed us the bill! Where’s Gordon Ramsay and his Kitchen Nightmares when you need ‘em, these guys would make a fab episode. Stay away and go to Raglan Fish on the wharf or something and eat fresh and ditch the fake restaurant setting for a slice of kiwiana. Go ANYWHERE else, anywhere is better than here, you won’t regret...

Hey:

I visited Raglan with my family on 7th of January 2023, the first stop what we have planned do the Raglan Boat Charters, however the cruise cancelled due to minimum number did not meet.

So we have decided to have the fish and chips in the Raglan fish, was a BD weather with rainy on that day, and my boy was sleeping in the car. So when we arrived we have found parking at side of Raglan Wharf Cafe. Then my dad jumped out first and walked to the seaside, I was waiting my boy awake in the car. There were two ladies staffs from Raglan Wharf Cafe sit in front of us for their break time, and they point to me to say we cannot parking there as only available for their customers. At that time I had no choice as my boy was sleep and hard to move the car in other place again. So I said ok we would have lunch there.

After that I found out no others car been noticed, and all the parkings at side of Wharf Cafe keeping changed but no one walked in for lunch, and no staffs to point out same thing for them.

After lunch I found out that all the parkings are free to anyone, these staffs were lying and I feel so bad, that has been discriminated. I did not complain at that time as we still need to visit other place and I did not want to pass these negative things to my parents and my boy.

But the most make me more upset is after lunch at the afternoon, myself and my dad all felt stomachache, that we felt the salad not fresh. And the fish very fishy.

Just because this lying and discriminated we have missed the best of Fish chips ( Raglan fish). All of us feel disappointed and have a really poor impression for Raglan, which including fraudulent,...
