We had a very disappointing experience at The Coffee Club, The Grange in Warkworth on Saturday, 29 June 2024. Our visit started off with high hopes, but it quickly went downhill.
We ordered fried eggs (medium) on toast; and what we received was far from acceptable. The eggs were hard, rubber-like, and even had a burn spot in the middle. We called the waitress over to let her know that we were not satisfied with the eggs and asked her how they had cooked the eggs. Her response was "we put it through the grill". We were taken aback by this - we ordered fried eggs, not grilled.
We then politely asked the waitress to redo the eggs as they were inedible, she pointed to a picture on the menu and asked if we wanted eggs like the picture. We confirmed, hoping for a better outcome. Unfortunately, the second attempt was even worse. The eggs were fused together, rock hard, and still rubber-like. They looked nothing like the picture on the menu.
To make matters worse, the waitress was very unfriendly throughout the whole ordeal. Despite the fact that we couldn't eat the food, she didn't even offer to refund our money i.e. 2x eggs on toast for $29 each, equaling $58 excl. our drinks!! Additionally, for two people, they served a ciabatta cut into quarters, passing two quarters off as two slices of toast. This felt very stingy and misleading. We left both meals, paid for, untouched, on the table and decided to find a better place to have breakfast.
Overall, the food was bad, the service was horrible, and the portion sizes were disappointing. We won't be returning to The Coffee Club and wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a...
Read moreVisited coffee clubs all over the country, usually a fan cause you always know what your gonna get. The ladies are very hard to understand cause they speak so fast. We got 4 different fappes and shakes and they were all ultra sweet and just tasted like syrup. We had a table of 9 and we were the only ones sitting down when we ordered. There was 20 minute wait and food started coming out spread over 20 minutes. There was another table getting food and we were only half served the 2 kids meals were the last to come. Another 15 minutes later my wife had to go up as we hadn't recieved our food. By this time everyone was finished, so when she finally come to the table to see what was missing my wife sarcastically said may as well be takeaway she walked away and yelled out to the kitchen to make it take away. I got up walked out and went to maccas. They blamed it on the cook when my wife went for a refund but there's 3 lady's front of house standing there talking, if one took a minute to check on the table they could of caught it. Waste of $250...
Read moreStaff were lovely. We regularly lunch at different Coffee Clubs and it's interesting to see how differently the same meals are dished up. My daughters got the loaded fries and an eggs bene. The eggs bene was lovely. Loaded fries were sad on the bacon. I myself got fish and chips and the fish was on the smaller side and the salad was pretty average with 1 slice of tomato and a tiny bit of red onion. The rest was salad leaves, some of which were droopy and banged up - not particularly fresh looking. Service itself was good, staff were nice and friendly. The Cafe was completely empty though. Have often eaten at the Coffee Club Warkworth and can't complain about the place. Would just be nice to see a bit more effort put into the salads and not holding back on particular...
