King of Spices — Restaurant in South Island

DO NOT EAT OR ORDER HERE. I'm never going back. Ordered online at 5.30 and arrived at 5.50 to pick up. Apparently the website wasn't working so they didn't get my order and I had to order all over again. Gave him my phone with the online receipt so he could copy the order over when re-ordering. I was told it wouldn't be long. They must have forgotten I was still sitting there because when I went up to the counter at 6.50 to complain, they had it sitting out the back and had forgotten to hand it to me. By the time I got home the grandchild was in bed which was the whole point of the visit. To top it off, they forgot my meal completely so I had to leave my family eating theirs while I drove back into town to get McDonald's. Worst restaurant experience for me in at least 20 years, will take a long time to top this for...

A Hidden Gem: King of Spices

What a find! King of Spices recently opened, and it's quickly become a go-to spot for us (4 times so far). The staff here are so welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely care about your experience.

But let's talk about the food. Every dish we tried was just what we were looking for – great taste and the right spice level for us. One of the best curries we have had

Service was spot on – attentive but not overbearing. And the place itself? Impeccably clean and inviting.

Overall, King of Spices is a must-visit. Friendly staff, delicious food, great service – what more could you ask for? Highly recommend...

Went in on Saturday night for dinner, service very slow, half an hour from ordering we got the on tray, over an hour to get the main and the naan, people who arrived after us got their meals before us "not good". Wife had mild mango chicken I've never seen red coloured mango chicken witch she said was quite bland, l had a medium chicken Tikka no heat in it at all the flavour was "ok" l have had better, seemed to be a lot of confusion with takeaway orders interfering with prioritizing sit down customers, the food and the service will have to improve before we would consider returning, sorry for the negative review but it was an...
