Thai Station Restaurant & Takeaway — Restaurant in South Island

We had a chance to visit Thai station last weekend. Amazing dining experience we haven’t had for a really long time. The food was absolutely fantastic, Fresh quality ingredients.

We had Thai fish cake as a starter, Pad Thai prawn, Choo Chee Prawn, and Panang Beef cheek (must try).

The Pad Thai was soooooo yummy, you can’t go wrong with Pad Thai and Thai station didn’t let me down, I give it 10/10

Choo Chee Prawn is well balanced style curry.Good size king prawn with a hint of spices this is like what I had back in Thailand just wonderful.

Lastly the Panang Beef cheek this is a must try dish, the beef cheek itself cooked to the perfection it’s just melted in your mouth. I love how the chef topped the dish with green apple salad, cleanse your palate after creamy curry well done chef.

If anyone heading up north of Canterbury (Hanmer spring, Kaikoura etc.) or on the way back to Christchurch city this is the place I recommend for the best Thai food.

I tried this on two occasions this past week. First time I had the peanut sauce with chicken as well as mini spring rolls and the second time I just had the chicken fried rice. Both were tasty, and I will no doubt have the peanut sauce one again when I'm feeling unusually wealthy, but I do think they are a little too expensive. Definitely worth it if you can afford it, though. I really like the fresh vegetables and the flavours are really good. The service was impeccable too. I'd rather pay for decent quality but the price will definitely make this place a special treat rather than a regular thing.

TL;DR exceptional food and service, just painfully expensive...

A brand new restaurant obviously still finding their feet, we recently dined in with a group of 10 and 1 feisty toddler. Table service has some room for improvement (as in all diners getting their meals at the same time) but the attention to our wee diner was much appreciated. I had the chefs special grilled duck curry and I would have to say it is by far the best curry I have ever had! The freshness of all meals was remarkable and the servings very generous. I was contemplating medium or hot and glad I decided medium as the spice level is far more authentic than other places I have eaten. Would definitely recommend and will be back next time we are...
