What a great little spot hidden away at the furthest north you can get on the west coast of the south island!

Vinnie’s is a cozy cafe with indoor and alfresco seating. Inside is warm and inviting and you can see the local radio station in full swing.

We had Brekky here and it was great. Made fresh with fresh local produce. The smoked chicken omelet with blue cheese was delicious. It was packed with flavour and as with all their meals the portion size was huge!

We came back later in the day to try the famous pies and sausage rolls. The lady said the sausage rolls were epic and she wasn’t kidding. More like a cross between and meatloaf and a beef burgundy. The rolls are a challenge to finish because there is so much delicious pork mince to devour.

The pies are equally as impressive with buttery pasty and filled to the brim with delicious filling. We tried the mince and bacon and I wish I had more room in my swollen and satisfied belly to try their venison pie but alas I was all pied and rolled out! Lol

If I am back this will be my first stop for an amazing...

Well where do I start !! Vinnie's is THE best little cafe' I have experienced in the South Island, we stayed in beautiful Karamea for 8 days and went to Vinnie's EVERY day at least twice each day, the food is outstanding, On Thursdays, Vinnie makes the most amazing massive savoury scones and you have to get in quick cause the locals get in there and boom straight out of the oven they are sold, Vinnie's home made pies are epic huge homemade and different fillings to choose from , the omelettes are devine I had the ham, tomatoe and feta omelette..lip smackingly good... and the coffee is made perfectly, you can get it in a proper mug if you ask Penny nicely, she is a gem and a fabulous barrister and makes the most delicious smoothies. Penny is one of the lovely staff there who made us feel so welcome as did all the staff and Vinnie himself so friendly keeping the locals and visitors well fed and watered..we cannot wait to go back to Karamea's most amazing cafe'....Thanks Vinnie and the epic team at Vinnie's Cafe' you made our stay so memorable...we...

Comfortable clean no frills cafe with great food and drinks. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had one of the delicious pies and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Thai pumpkin soup was delicious, creamy with a subtle heat served with toast. The drinks, well I had the tonic which is house made, tumeric, ginger, lemon and honey all from fresh ingredients, no syrups for this cafe, nothing but the real deal and absolutely delicious. The carrot cake was moist with a good amount of creamy icing and the Honey almond slice was yummy. All in all this is a great place for wonderful honest food full of flavour and made with...

In the town that is literally at the end of the road in the northern west coast you find this gem. Amazing staff. Super coffee and food to die for. The Bacon and Eggs are well worth it and the serve of bacon is huge. The whitebait fritter is the biggest I have seen and it’s done the coast way. In a white bread sandwich. Highly recommend for a visit for breakfast and or lunch or throughout the day.

Awesome little cafe and bar on the main strip in Karamea. Love the natural wood, live edges and quirky setup. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seats. The coffee is excellent and the food very good. Best pie I've had in a long time. Really friendly staff and locals make it a great spot to stop in. We loved it so much we went back again after walking a few shirt tracks!
