Great coffee, nice food, amazing staff. Stopped here for coffee while visiting the northland. The coffee was really nice, both the hot and cold ones. Serving size was perfect. Liked how they used the cardboard cup for cold coffee as well. The place was pretty busy with both locals and tourists. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They have a wide variety of sandwiches, bagels, and they even had a nice ice cream section. It’s located perfectly on the way to the beach to grab a coffee/chiller and a snack either on the way to the beach or coming back from it. The overall vibe on a beautiful sunny day was great. Would recommend stopping over.

Funky container selling good coffee, gelato and croissants. An outstanding addition to the Coopers Beach shops. Enjoyed the friendly banter with the staff. Just a short stroll down to the beach from here too. I hate to say it but they really should allow you to taste the different Gelato flavours and the 1 scoop is quite small.

Great attitude from the friendly and personable team and possibly the best coffee up north that I've had. Highly recommend the Almond Orange muffin and Moca. The Mango sorbet wasn't bad either! Definitely worth a stop on the way to the beach.

Stopped in to grab a nice coffee and something sweet to eat seeing it was open but only to be turned away by a guy saying they were closed, they'd only had a few customers earlier on in the day so he shut shop, only thing is everything was still open and it was mid afternoon. The shop sides were open, all lights on, they were inside. Hubby asked if he could recommend any other places and his response was try Kerikeri - over an hour away. Won't go back again. His loss, we spent $30 at a place in the next Bay.

UPDATE: Response to proprietors response: The review was on your service and how you dealt and spoke to my husband at the time, you said nothing about being open only for maintenance and he doesn't recall seeing a closed sign, there were cars parked all around your venue, it may have been out but he didn't see it, you didn't say you closed at 2pm. We went onto Monganui which had several nice places to stop for a coffee. This review was on your service and how you spoke to my husband on the day we stopped in not...

Give it a miss.

Rude owner told my family and I it was ‘uncool’ that my wife was eating a sandwich (bought from a nearby bakery) whilst eating and drinking over $40 worth of food and coffee from their cafe. He said there were people waiting - so we were prematurely asked to move on and finish up to make way for people….drinking coffee.

There are several other reviews that describe the same experience. Owner…people will buy coffees and muffins from you regardless of whether they have an opportunity to sit down at your bench (there is a beach nearby for gods sake). Experiences like this turn people away - and you need to reflect on it.

Don’t be defensive (as I can see you have been in the past), and just take...
