Amigos in Alexandra offers a relaxed, casual vibe—perfect for an easy-going lunch. It wasn’t busy when I visited, so the atmosphere was calm and the service was prompt, friendly, and efficient.

Pictured are:

Totopos y Salsas – House-made corn chips with salsa

Carnitas – Pulled pork soft taco

Baja Fish – Beer-battered fish soft taco

The corn chips were perfectly crisp, and the fresh salsa was mild and refreshing—a great way to start the meal.

The soft tacos were generously filled and served fresh. The Carnitas taco had a rich flavour, though it was quite juicy—tomato juices made it a bit messy to eat.

The Baja Fish taco was the standout. Lightly crispy with a pleasant kick of spice, it was packed with flavour and really came together beautifully. I actually found myself wishing I’d ordered two of those instead...

Nice little place, and the only one in the area open on Sunday night. Service was good and food cooked quickly. I got 2 tacos and some guac. The Cerdo y Pina (pork belly) taco was delish. The Falda y Queso (brisket) was both more expensive and not as good, unfortunately. The cream cheese was either forgotten or so bland that it didn't taste anything like cream cheese, which is a shame because I was really looking forward to that specific topping.

I would consider the prices to be very high for the portions. The guacamole was very small, maybe 2 tablespoons at most. I probably wouldn't come back, even if I was craving Mexican, just due to the prices being high and quality not quite being worth it. It was good to satisfy this one craving and I would still recommnd it to others, but am unlikely to...

Replacing the old post office, I was rapt to see perhaps the best restaurant in cromwell spread to my hometown Alexandra. Striking the perfect balance between the exotic spanish-mexican culture and being accessible to anyone. Excellent food and drinks, with a broad range of meals available - I especially recommend their nachos and quesadillas, though be aware these are not huge servings.

Certain elements of the menu are somewhat lacking, for example the chicken wings and fries taste quite weak, but if you know what you want they offer fantastic food for very reasonable prices. Not many large tables for large groups, but perfect for couples or families on a night out, or even just for a...

Definitely best Fried Chicken in town!!! The Tacos are good especially Shredded Chicken and Baja Fish. I have got the Duck Taco a few times as takeaway which used to be my favorite but this time it was really tough. The star of tonight though was the dessert Oh my brownie was to die for. Will definitely be my go to. 👍👍👍
