Bakehouse Cafe — Restaurant in Waikato

We have been to this place to eat many times in the past & it was quite good. But over the last few months things have gone downhill. On 2 occasions my milkshake was just over half full. I had left & was far away from the shop when I discovered it, so didn't complain. However, this time it was barely half full. The food was very bland having no sauce. It couldn't be recognised as satay as I had ordered, or anything else for that matter. It was very sparse, having a huge amount of rice & very little chicken. When I rang to discuss this, I was pleasant & wanted to resolve things as painlessly as possible. When I began to talk about the milkshakes, a crecendo of screaming came down the line. Because of her accent, I couldn't understand some of the abuse & tried to slow things down so we could get somewhere, but the screaming was unrelenting. Absolutely appalling service from staff. We felt an inconvenience just for giving them business.

The fish was extremely dry. Ended up feeding it to our dogs. A whole lot of the menu was unavailable including what I wanted to order. But no assistance or guidance or recommendations on alternatives from staff. One staff member in particular was rather dismissive and uninviting. And the premise seems to just be falling into demise (outdoor seating closed for example)

There were no forks, so when asked for some, were given - but what about all the other patrons? More than enough staff doing nothing to maybe wash a handful of forks for customers to use (Cutlery is normally on bench to help yourself).

Prices just becoming exorbitant. And certainly nowhere near the value received.

Waited patiently for the lady to serve me, she ignored me & offered the lady who had walked in 4mins after me service. Pretty APPALLING! It also says "CREAMY MUSHROOM" has the picture looking like creamy mushroom, unfortunately I was fooled I got gravy mushroom. Steak was obviously punched & stabbed well cooking cos some parts were rubber, so sad for a fresh slice.
