We held a casual beach wedding reception lunch here for my family of 60 and had a great time. Thanks to Pan and the team! Can't beat the location on a nice day - Ocean views, sunshine, plenty of shade, sea breeze. We loved supporting our local Onemana cafe at a beautiful, rustic cafe location. Perfect layout for a big catch up with people in an informal setting.
Pan was very helpful in the months leading up to the event in ironing out the details, and flexible in tailoring a venue/catering package that suited our needs. We were able to have the place to ourselves. Great communication and flexibility for our celebration. Food was pretty good - we had 2 course share platters (entrees and then roast/grilled meats) and were able to BYO wine (self-service) and dessert for per head fees. Then of course had access to hot drinks, beers, non-alcoholic beverages ordered at the bar.
Staff were super friendly, relaxed and helpful.
Surrounded with a beach, park, and even lily pond it's a sweet little spot. Can't beat...
Read moreWas really disappointed. Paid $96 for a pizza, two kids meals, 2 chocolate milkshakes and a cofee. Pizza menu said it had ‘beef scotch’ in the meat lovers, what we got was undersized, and covered in cheap meats, including burger patty meat, and cut up sausages, not scotch! $31 was not worth it, Hells do cheaper than that and more gourmet. Kids meals were $18 each and overly deep fried 5 nuggets of oil and chips. Would have been better to get a higher quality adults meal and halve it. Shakes were $9.50 each and nothing more than milk and syrup. I know it’s isolated, but save your money and get something better 9mins away in a Whangamata Cafe, and take it out for a picnic. Very disappointed after having best pulled pork burger ever when there last 6 yrs ago. Must have changed owner. Be alright if you just wanted coffee, but even that was overly milky, and too big...
Read moreWish we had read the reviews before going in here. It was a dead give away that the place was empty. No iced coffee or iced chocolate available then told to go next door they have milkshakes and same thing they weren't offering them (they're the same business). 40min later our food comes out 1 meal first another 15min later then the juice we ordered wasnt available aswell so we had to choose from the fridge. The food was average lacking flavour and for the ridiculous time it took I was expecting a bloody master piece since we were the only people at the time we arrived to order, 3 people in the kitchen obviously no one cooking. You can see that this place could be amazing but the people running it have no idea what they are doing. We wont be back anytime soon, will stick to Whangamata...
