A lovely spot, and an opportunity to see some history at the same time. We were lucky to be there in the cool of the day (being summer) and before the summer hordes arrived. There is a good amount of space for groups, and both indoor and outdoor seating.
I imagine if many people arrive at once the staff will be rushed off their feet so spare a thought for them when it is busy. For us they were friendly, courteous and attentive with service. Our food and drinks were great, the tables were clean, and we were able to sit outside to enjoy the fresh air, and to look in the little museum they have on site. Plenty to read about there, and gives you a balanced view of the history of Rangiriri and the Waikato in general.
The bathroom facilities were accessible and also clean and tidy. A (babies') change table is available in the ladies toilet.

My Egg Benny at $23.00 was on the high side of average but comprehensive, and well prepared and more manageable on a Hash brown.
