The first bit of service was good. The front counter welcomed us and asked how many, then put a couple tables together for us. While waiting one of us was standing at the food pass where the chef said "why dont people book". So decided to move on. Informed the front of counter about while we're leaving so hopefully there's a change in the attitude of the chef finds an industry more suited for him as cafe's tend to be a place to walk in for food.

Response: to clarify the comment made was in reference to our first time being here and something to remember for next time. Not an attack on the place but an observation we made for ourselves. We apprecaited the front of house staff member making a larger table for us. The sarcastic comment from the chef was not required and completely ruined the impression the staff member had just made. Had we stayed and tried your food we may have looked at booking in future given we had already noticed the size of the location and limited seating. Thank you for the apology but it will be unlikely we...

Sadly on this days things must have gone wrong. There were 8 or 10 people in front of us which made it a long wait. That was fine. When our food did arrive I had a milkshake which was milk powder and no ice cream so that was a bit weird. My main meal was a seafood chowder and at the edge of it was a black human hair. As it was on the edge I thought Oh well pulled it out and got on with it. I ate possibly 1/3 of it as the taste and quality of the meal was awful. The toast I was gorgeous. My wife had a Chickpea fritter which was overcooked and bounced off the plate when you put a fork into it. Both of us left a substantial part of our meal. We did not complain as it had taken so long to come and didn't want to start the process again. Generally the staff were friendly. Maybe we caught them at bad time. Sad though as it was our worst meal in three weeks in...

Really nasty service and I would avoid. I was cycling the Huka Falls loop and looking forward to sitting down on the return leg with 2 friends who had come over from Prague especially. I am a kiwi and was so embarrassed by the way the owner spoke to the guests after we paid for drinks and some food but the place was closing so he turfed us out in a very brash and unapologetic way. Additionally 2 more young female tourists from Munich had joined us and tagged along as we knew the route and they were treated even worse. I felt so bad for us good and kind kiwis in particular as they bought my NZ kola as a thanks for leading everyone. The owners should be ashamed and i note also they own the helicopter business and if this is any reflection on their treatment of tourists and fellow kiwis then don't get in one of those helicopters. They might turf you out...

Underwhelming and questionable food, saved by kind service staff. Prices were expensive given the size and quality of food received. A unique and interesting location. We ordered the lamb burger and the fish and chips. The fish and chips were oily and even after mountain biking for 4 hours we couldn’t bring ourselves to finish the meal. The lamb burger does not come with chips, we added them and thank goodness we did. The “burger” was about half a pita pocket, the lamb was uncooked and we had to send it back. The second time we received the meal it still had parts uncooked and cold. We didn’t bother to try a third time. The service staff were kind and understanding, they offered a refund on the meal or an additional food item.

Don't give a good image of Kefi on town! We ordered two iced drinks, milk was warm (ambient temperature). Not nice specially on summer. The glass were very damaged and dirty. A shame! It doesnt cost a lot to buy correct ones. Greek poutine was good. Do not order the fish burger. For $25 you'll get buns, piece of fish and coleslaw. Nothing else!!! Tiny portion of fries. Not even sauce in the burger and very dry buns. Sound a hair on my plate. The kitchen look old and dirty, same for the toilets (damaged and unsanitary rubbish bin,...). The furniture were very dirty too. Will be Lucky if we dont get sick!

10/10 despite being very busy! Could smell the delicious food from outside. Warm friendly atmosphere, great kids toys, excellent menu and cabinet food. Had a very tasty seafood chowder and kids fish and chips which were both a scrummy and filled us up on a very cold day. The chef acknowledged us as we said thank you, wait staff were friendly and professional. Easy parking and the novelty of access to the old chopper was a fun experience for my child. Clean environment and if it was local to us we’d be back again and again. Next time we pass by we’ll be back. Thank you
