Hollywood Bakery and Espresso — Restaurant in Whau

My sandwich was pretty rough, lots of egg pushed in to the middle so it looked extra full, but the egg had way too much cracked black pepper in it, and also chopped up spring onion, which was a strange flavour combo that I personally didn't enjoy. The bread was dry and not fresh. Hot chips were ok, took quite a long time, and very pricy for the small bowl, and again a fair amount of cracked black pepper on them which I didn't realise came as standard. Barely touched the sammie, and didn't finish the chips, was just too peppered out! Staff were friendly and pleasant, plenty of parking and tables available. The café was reasonably clean and tidy, and I liked the fact that they have serviettes, cutlery, sauces etc all available for you to help yourself and not have to ask or...

Just tried to rip us off by charging us a side of hash browns and providing us 2 x hash bites. Same with the sausages, in the past have provided 4 and were given 2z Had to try talk to 3 x different people to try resolve it but they kept running away and I had to keep getting their attention. There excuse was, we ran out but they weren’t forthcoming that they ran out and only were when they were confronted did they admit this. I refused the discount, as they should have been forthcoming that they ran out out of sausages and hash browns. Rude and dishonest service. I called in here for breakfast, l had 1 1/2 hours to kill before my appointment. Great range of food - way more options than other Hollywood's (which are still great). The bacon and eggs was perfection.. with a hash brown included, 2x nicely soft butters when most places only give you one frozen one. Coffee was fast and great. I went to use the bathroom and it was clean and smelled beautiful! With great attention to detail, these owners obviously care that all customers have a good experience.
