Where tides of Tamaki softly sigh, And dawn paints hues on a morning sky, There stands a haven, warm and bright, Patiki's glow, a welcoming light. From humble start, a seed took root, A place of comfort, blessed with fruit, Of friendship brewed, and stories spun, Beneath the gaze of rising sun. The scent of coffee, rich and deep, Awakens souls from slumbering sleep, While golden pastries, fresh and warm, Defy the chill of any storm. The baristas dance, a graceful sway, Pouring latte art, to start the day, Each swirling pattern, a gentle art, A whispered promise, to play a part. Then midday hums, a vibrant beat, As locals gather, friends to meet, The clinking glasses, soft and low, Where laughter blossoms, to and fro. The menu sings, a culinary rhyme, Of flavours gathered, space and time, From hearty brunches, rich and bold, To salads crisp, in stories told. The sun descends, a fiery kiss, And golden hour, brings gentle bliss, The bar transforms, with evening's grace, A gathering place, a warm embrace. The cocktails flow, a vibrant stream, Each crafted potion, a waking dream, From classic blends, to twists so new, A symphony of flavours, shining through. The amber lights, a gentle gleam, Reflect the stories, in a flowing stream, Of whispered secrets, shared with care, And moments captured, beyond compare. The music drifts, a soulful sound, As conversations, softly bound, The gentle murmur, a tranquil hum, Where worries fade, and sorrows numb. The staff, a family, kind and true, With smiles that sparkle, shining through, They weave their magic, day and night, And fill Patiki, with pure delight. From weary travellers, seeking rest, To loyal patrons, truly blessed, All find a haven, safe and warm, Protected from life's passing storm. The ocean breathes, a constant sigh, While stars emerge, in inky sky, And Patiki's glow, a beacon bright, Extends its welcome, through the night. A place of memories, etched in time, Where moments linger, truly sublime, A tapestry woven, thread by thread, Patiki's spirit, gently spread. So raise a glass, to this sweet place, Where warmth and laughter, interlace, Patiki's heart, a gentle flame, Forever etched,...
Read morePositives: Food was good. Lots of flavour and presentation was decent also. Really enjoyed the beef bourguignon.
Improvements: Portion sizes for our mains were small. Smaller than I had seen in photos on various social media platforms. For example - photos showed two pieces of pork belly and we were only served one. The beef bourguingnon had 6 pieces of beef. Felt like they may be giving us a smaller portion/half the food because we were paying half price as First Table diners. When asked how our meals were I was very honest and said the food was very nice but the meals were small, my first impression when they were served was they looked like kids meals portion wise (and also the small bowls they were served in). The waiter didn't really say anything to this feedback which was disappointing. I ordered steak for my 7 year old as he's a steak fan. This meal was a decent size but not cooked medium rare as requested. My partner was brought the wrong beer. Rather than making a fuss I ordered the beer he had asked for as I hadn't ordered a drink yet and gave it to my partner. Repeating orders back to customers can help eliminate errors like this. Menus were taken after we ordered dinner and the waiter did not come back to see if we wanted dessert. We sat for a while after our plates were cleared and was going to order dessert but as the waiter had walked past several times and not stopped to ask we paid and left. Service was okay. Despite the disappointments I've rated service a 3 because Patiki is a more casual dining establishment and the waiter was nice enough. A few refinements would go a long way though. Nice food so I recommend trying Patiki out despite all my improvements...
Read moreAwesome experience.
I like how it feels tucked away despite still being on a main road. Our waiter was accomodating and very friendly. Place was real clean and tidy. Nice ambient music playing.
I ordered the grand breakfast. This isn’t a meal for everyone as you’ll see from the photo. If you’re used to a traditional eggs toast bacon sausage deal. I for one really enjoyed it though. I think what it nails is the flavour. There’s a really interesting assortment that’s anything but boring. Presented well too!
Bonus points for the flat white coffee. Tasted real smooth and not too bitter. The art was really well done on it too! A Pegasus! Didn’t even know you could make that sort of thing haha. I should’ve taken a photo but was too quick to gulp it down lol.
The prices were reasonable and all up a good experience. Worth a shot if you want to try a different cafe to your usual :)
Cheers to the team at Patiki!
Edit 14/11/2024 came back for the burger and fries. Great! No complaints. Picture...
