Tacos Suculento — Restaurant in Port-Harcourt

Tacos Suculento is a NO NO. I mean no disrespect but it was disappointing for a Mexican cuisine. The first issue was with their menu. They either don't have what is on their menu or you have to order what they have available. The carbonara had options of a few proteins inside (bacon, beef, chicken or shrimp), but when I placed an order I was told it comes with only pork. I opted for the seafood 'creamy' pasta and I was presented with a dry spaghetti stir-fry for 14k. The taste was off for me, I couldn't eat it so I had to take it home to remedy it. My friend went for the pineapple rice and it was served on a plate. It was too yellow-looking and overly sweet for no reason. The chicken inside was minced and almost nonexistent. The portion was small and wasn't presentable.

The tortilla chips and guacamole sauce was nothing to write home about (presentation was just there), considering I've had extremely good mexican cuisines, especially nachos and tacos. The churros were better, so it wasn't entirely a loss. Effort should be put into the meals (presentation and taste) because there are people who are keen on quality and taste, not just food for food sake. The interiors can do with a touch up here and there. The waiter, Chinaza, apologised after I expressed my displeasure with the food so that's fair. Maybe they were having a bad day, but that's not a good enough excuse and reason to fall short. My first experience wasn't satisfactory at all, I'm sorry....

I gave them 2 stars simply because the tacos (which I ordered as a side) was decent and fresh. However, the beef burger was a disaster! It was the driest burger I've ever seen, bun was not fresh, beef patty was dry and ruined with excess salt, only God knows what synthetic cheese they put in it that refused to melt. For my first order today, I had Chicken Tacos (very spicy) and Tortillas with Chicken Guacamole. Everything was delicious and nicely presented. I will definitely recommend Tacos Suculento and order take out again. I'm looking forward to having Nachos & churros next time.
