Restaurant Aquarius — Restaurant in Municipality of Struga

Rather disappointing experience.

I was really looking forward to trying the local speciality _carp. So after long research decided to visit this place for 'a splash out' dinner. No succes. Dissapointments as follows:

a. The fish was 'preorded' ... sort of... on the morning of the dinner have visited place to book a table and enquire about the availability of the fish. The server was vague and noncomittal.

b. On the arrival the table was not available (servers were aware of the reservation, but blamed the unexpected busy time)

c. It took 10 or 15 mins before we received the menus.

b. Wine list was not available. When asked_ server came up with 'red or white'.... No good! (I'm in a wine country!!!!) Had to go to wine rack myself across the restaurant to get more than 'red or white'.

c. Carp was NOT AVAILABLE. Never found out why!

d. After choosing trout for main course (which is still very beutiful fish n was the staple food throughout the duration of the stay in the area) it came out tortured.

e. After the dinner requested a glass of digestive and received the cheapest rakija from the list _ tastles. (had no chance to choose_no menus and no attention from the serving staff).

....and some other small things not worth elaborating.

On the bright side...

Beutiful location (lakeside). Makalo (garlic sauce) on a bed of spicy chillies (love garlic, LOVE SPICY) was to die for. Grilled cheese_glorious. Wine was a beutiful 'Vranec', defenately something to try.

And ...last but not least... clean toilets (unusual for the area).

All in all disappointing with small patches of joy...keeping in mind that it was busy (very busy) weeknight in the restaurant durring the...

We recently had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful lakeside restaurant, just a short 2-3 minute drive from the city. The location is fantastic, offering ample parking space and a serene setting by the water. The ambiance was perfect for a relaxing evening, with a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The food was the highlight of our visit. The risotto with chicken was absolutely divine, rich and flavorful, while the beef steak was cooked to perfection—tender and bursting with flavor. Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, making the meal truly memorable.

The service, while not exceptional, was adequate. The staff seemed to have a limited command of English, which might have contributed to the average service, but they were polite and tried their best to accommodate our needs.

Overall, we had a wonderful time and would recommend this restaurant for its excellent food, beautiful location, and cozy ambiance. A great spot for a...

Right from the start, we didn’t feel welcome at all. The staff seemed annoyed that we were only a group of three instead of a larger party, which apparently caused issues with the table allocation. Not a great first impression.

It took ages before anyone came to take our order, and the waiter showed no friendliness or effort whatsoever. At the end of the meal, I had to wait at least 15 minutes just to get the bill – again, no smile, no politeness, nothing.

The most unpleasant part, however, was the behavior of the owner. Instead of creating a welcoming atmosphere, she acted more like a mafia boss – loud, controlling, and borderline intimidating. Overall, it was an uncomfortable experience, which is a shame because the place itself...
