Peppes Pizza - Alta — Restaurant in Alta

We are visitors who travelled to Alta more than 17hrs plane ride for we heard of the beauty of the place and the warmth of the people. Wanted to get a glass of wine and this was the only place opened in the mall. It was barely empty . I am counting 4 tables of 3 to 4. Half of the tables there were already done with their meals and just talking . I walked in, asked for the menu. Staff just scurried passed me ignoring my presence I waited patiently for another 5mins. Then I asked if I could make an order , one of the wait staff young kid long hair said wait he had to take orders of another table. I said I’ll be waiting outside and asked if he could come by to take the order when he’s ready. I waited at the table outside for 20mins - half an hour. None of the staff ever came out. Idk if it’s because we weren’t local or maybe Asian. I don’t think we were rude or acted out of fashion in any way. It was half an hour later that I went back in again before a nicer wait staff (wearing glasses) . Terrible service, for tourist that...

Somewhat pleasant and quiet place although it is situated inside the mall. Some tobacco smell does come in through the doors. In authentic Peppe's style, preparation of their fast foods take some time. Onion rings (ordered for starters) came at the same time with pizzas. Italian style Nduja was missing basil and Chicago style 'Very Special' (customer selected ingredients) was missing pineapple and had peanuts instead. Other than that the Chicago style pizza was fine, the Italian style however tasted lot like barbeque sauce and was quite stiff to eat. Water for drinks. We were too hungry to send our orders back and for around 600 nok I think we won't choose...

I figured a pizza margherita would be a safe choice. Boy, was I ever wrong. If only they'd just thrown a pizza in the oven from the supermarket next door, I wouldn't be typing this review right now. But alas, I feel it is my duty as a peaceful pizza-loving citizen to warn others of the crimes against humanity perpetrated by Peppes Pizza by making the utterly atrocious margherita I was just served. I was once told pizza was like sex, in that even the bad stuff is pretty good, but regrettably even that little nugget of solace seems to be #fakenews.
