Vardestua restaurant — Restaurant in Molde

Incredibly beautiful view inside and out. The staff seemed sweet enough so I am not understanding all the other reviews. They were very accommodating with our luggage which we asked to store while we sat. We did not come for food, only came earlier in the day to have waffles and coffee. Both were fine, but not noteworthy, more novelty. I did not expect much from this type of place with such a scenic view, but I was pleasantly surprised. The one thing I would say is that we were told that you can only order food from 15:00, but food was coming out to tables about a quarter to which means that I could have ordered something and eaten before the trip to the airport as I was getting hungry.

Never ever in my whole life have I been treated like this. We just came in to have dinner and within ten seconds an employee came towards us and barked "It's closed!". I dared to look at all the people having dinner for like two seconds, but before I could say 'ok' and leave he pushed us out of the door. He even followed us, pushed us through the second door of the vestibule and pulled the door shut behind us.

Would have probably been too easy to just put a sign up, saying "Privat function" or, at least, be just a bit friendly and not acting like the freaking king...

Nice place on top of the mountain. Decent and delicious food with nice ambience. Fantastic view of Molde, fjords and mountain peaks around. Can spend hours looking at the beautiful nature on a perfect day. It's possible to hike to the place, a perfect place to relax and recharge after the hike.
