McDonald's Gaustad — Restaurant in Oslo

Dissapointed in the service here. Their system for having order descriptions delivered to the kitchen was down, so they needed my receipt to get my order ready. So far it was fine, my receipt not only said what I had ordered on the self-service kiosk, but also showed what customizations and extras i had ordered (and paid for!)

With my receipt in hand they went into the kitchen to prepare my order (i belived). Soon after they came back with a paperbag for me. Back in the car i opened the bag, and were looking foreward to eat my food, only to discover sll three items I had been given were plain; none of them had any of the customizations I had ordered, even if they meant I had paid almost double of what it would normally cost without my chosen customizations! And my receipt laid on the pickup desk in the resturant.

I called them about the problem, but there were little apologies to be offered. After all their system was down, so itbwas not their fault i did not get my order as I had requested it (even if I had given them the receipt that detailed everything?) And the only compensation they could give me was one or two free burgers in their restaurant, if I came by during the next two days, while the same manager was at work.

Now this restaurant is on the opposite side of Oslo from where I live; I don't go to this side of the city unless i have business here, and two burgers would not even cover gas and the road-tolls to get here from my home.

Obviously this is a VERY poor compensation for my trouble, and only further fuels my disappointment. I understand there was an issue and their automated system was down, but that does not excuse not giving me what I ordered when they got my receipt with all the details in hand. And if the system error meant they could not make custom orders, then I would expect to be told, so I could order without options or customization, and get what I paid for/ordered. This pratice is a scam, a theft of my money, and I can not reccomend this Mac Donalds restaurant based on the service...

As usual for McDonald’s, the food tasted the same as always, so nothing to pick on there.

I mainly disliked the cleanliness and the usage of bouncers at night. This is the closes McDonald’s to my house, and the restaurant I visit if I’m out late at night or need some quick food.

However, at night this McDonald’s is an absolute mess. No clean seats, trash everywhere on the ground and spilt drinks too. Definitely need better cleaning at night.

Furthermore, I understand why they would want bouncers/security guards at night to keep employees safe. But these bouncers need to lower their ego a few steps. After showing him my receipt, he proceeded to take it out of my hands and turn it into a ball. When I then asked for my receipt back he said I couldn’t have it, only giving it to me after I once again asked firmly. And I did not get it back in one piece, he ripped it up.

It never disappoints when it comes to flavor and quality. The pizzas were freshly made, with a crispy yet soft crust that had just the right amount of chewiness. The toppings were generous, and the cheese was perfectly melted—just the way a pizza should be! I tried the Pepperoni Passion and the BBQ Chicken, and both were absolutely delicious. The balance of flavors, from the rich tomato sauce to the smoky toppings, was spot on.
