We were visiting our Norwegian friends who live in Porsgrunn this week and they suggested we visit the new Irish bar in Skien, we were embarrassed to be Irish by what we saw. The bar was filthy, it felt uncomfortable and kind of dingy. My husband said to men’s toilets was stinking, and the ladies toilets were not great either. The fish and chips was a mess of gooey batter served with undercooked fries, the pizza was ok, but it was burnt around the edges. 230nok (€19.00) for a frozen pizza! The server with an English accent who was very smiley had a very sharp attitude and a cocky manner, we didn’t appreciate her demeanour at all, she spent most her time sitting at the bar. Overall, this was an unpleasant experience, but I guess it’s not aimed at us. Fish and chips and one large pizza with two beers came to over 650 Nok that’s €55.00 for frozen food.
