There are restaurants that serve meals and then there is Ananthapuri . Ananthapuri serves not just great meals but memories. It was my first Onam after marriage and having bizzare work schedules and time zones, I could meet my husband half way across the world 2 days after the festival. We had missed out on the celebrations. Ananthapuri made all the difference by arranging a full sadya exclusively for my family just with a phone call. The spread was impressive from the pickles to the payasam, they left no stone unturned in their hospitality and generosity. Mr. Bijoy himself overseeing the meal, they went out of their way to make our Onam special. The sadya was ceremonious, delicious and one that will remind you of home cooked splendour. Each item was steaming hot, cooked fresh and had distinct flavours. The mango pickle, sambhar, avial and kootu curry were exceptional among others. The ambience at Ananthapuri will transport you to Kerala, replete with a statue of an elephant at the gate! The tables are interestingly done with miniature models of traditional cooking utensils and kitchen items with their names, for the veterans it is sweet nostalgia of their sooty kerala ancestral kitchens and for the uninitiated it is an interesting display. The service is attentive, prompt and polite. They affectionately prompted us to eat more and served joyously. There is ample of parking and clean washrooms. The attention to detail is incredible. The experience is here to stay with my husband and me for a lifetime. Ananthapuri lived upto its name- a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAnanthapuri Restaurant in Muscat is a true gem for lovers of authentic Kerala cuisine. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, with traditional Kerala-style decor that gives a cozy, homely vibe. During my visit, I tried their Kerala special biryani and mutton fry, both of which were outstanding ,the biryani had rich, layered flavors with tender meat, and the mutton fry was perfectly spiced, crispy on the outside yet juicy inside. Their appam, beef roast, and prawn curry also deserve a special mention for their authenticity and taste. Portion sizes are generous and ideal for sharing, though some dishes are slightly pricier than average. The staff was courteous and helped with recommendations, and the service was prompt despite the evening rush. It can get a bit noisy when crowded, but the overall experience from food quality to hospitality was excellent. Definitely one of the best places in Muscat to enjoy traditional South Indian flavors with a focus on Kerala...

You can reach Ananthapuri from Ruwi round about to Muthrah road and enter through hotel door or you can also enter from the rear side. The parking space is not too much but probably you will get it. You will get all Kerala foods here that are really superb and price is reasonable. The fish curry meals for lunch is the famous dish here. And the Kerala theme based interior is really awesome and nostalgic. The dining space arranged around the large tree bed is really great idea. Its giving lots of privacy for each families and common play area for kids. The large party hall would be enough to accommodate parties and functions for 50-70pax. Ananthapuri will provide buffet lunch or dinner along with entertainment programmes and games to increase fun and happiness of each functions. You should visit Ananthapuri at least once in your Muscat life even if you are...
