On The Wood - Qurum مطعم — Restaurant in Muscat

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant on February 11 around noon. I ordered the lamb with vine leaves and grilled chicken, and neither dish met expectations. The lamb was overly fatty, and the vine leaves tasted stale, possibly from the day before. The grilled chicken was a complete disaster – it had a foul smell, lacked proper marination, and didn’t have any of the smoky barbecue flavor you'd expect, as it seemed to have been cooked in a pan instead. To make matters worse, the waiter was extremely disrespectful, tossing the plates on the table with no care. We barely touched the chicken and couldn’t eat any of it. When we shared our feedback with the staff member on duty, he said he would inform the chef but refused to remove the dish from our bill. We came to On the Woods Qurum at 8:30 pm on a Thursday evening. They made us wait outside because there wasn’t enough room for 10 of us. We were told we are next and there is no one ahead of us. At 9 pm the big table was vacant and a server named SAROWAR, who was extremely rude from the start, gave the table to an Arab family that just walked in. We questioned why would he make us wait for so long & give it away to someone. He just turned his head around in arrogance and asked us to wait.

He’s the most arrogant and pathetic server a restaurant can have. I’d never revisit this place given this guy is the lead server.

Having visited On The Wood in Qurum, Muscat multiple times, I can confidently say that this authentic Lebanese restaurant is a true standout. The food is consistently excellent, and the attention and friendliness of the waiter were exceptional on each visit.
